It might be called Aran or 10 ply? Do any of those sound familiar? However I want to mention and emphasize you can use ANY yarn weight with this pattern, a lighter (lower ply) yarn will make it smaller, whereas a chunkier yarn will make it larger. Just make sure to match the yarn to the correct hook size. If you want to tell me the yarn brands you have I'd be happy to check and make suggestions :)
Can you tell me what worsted yarn means in Ireland we have 4ply , double knit, chunky but don't know if these are similar
