  • The fragmentation of Amazonian ecosystems has driven the region to a
potentially catastrophic tipping point, with immense ramifications for biodiversity, Indigenous peoples, and climate change. Indigenous territories are thus often framed as islands in a landscape radically altered by expanding development pressures and as potential solutions to conservation challenges. This talk by Dr. Joel Correia of Colorado State University advances a new way of thinking about Indigenous territories and their conservation potential.
