Thanks for this video, I had no idea how my identical fridge worked. Only problem I had was I had to remove my temperature knob to push the gas in enough to star. You were a great help. Much appreciated Sir.
You are more than welcome. So glad the video was of use. I had originally made it to demonstrate that the gas was working ok, as I was selling it on Gumtree. It got a few views so I left it up there. Thanks for your comment and glad I could help.
Hi Jon I also had the very same issue when trying to remove this fridge from a caravan. There are 4 screws at the front to secure it, but unknown to me someone had screwed a long screw from the wardrobe into the side of the fridge. We tried everything to release it, but it wouldn't budge. I discovered the random screw by wobbling and twisting the fridge. It seemed to be stuck roughly in the middle at the left hand side against the wardrobe. In the wardrobe some previous owner had screwed a piece of wood to the side as a support for a shelf. Once I had released the screws holding the wood, the fridge came out easily! 😅 So I can understand your frustration. Maybe it has been glued in place, who knows? But I hope you can figure it out without too much damage. Good luck, I would be interested to know your results... 🤞
Hi I'm no fridge expert but the main thing I believe is to clean out any rust deposits in the gas burning chamber. It's the cover you need to dismantle on the rear, bottom right where the gas jets heat up the vertical chamber. Thy become contaminated with falling rust particles from the inside of the heat exchanger vertical pipe. This pipe also has the mains heating element and the 12volt DC element. Some people suggest using a high pressure air line to blow off any loose rust or dust particles from the vertical tube and burner. Just point it down the exhaust chimney... Or use a flue brush, you have to take out the spring and dangling plate first from the top. The other issue I found was with the multi switch, which would turn off the gas if gently waggled. It was strange that a switch would turn off the gas when there was no power to the fridge. Eventually I had to take the multi switch in bits as bend one of the contacts to make it work again. Another problem I have heard about is with the fluid sealed in the pipes. Apparently if you turn the fridge upside down and leave it like that for a while. Then put it back the right way up it will remix the two different liquids inside. That seems to be a last resort as the fridge could be on its way out. Hope this helps keep your fridge working. Thanks for commenting and if anyone else has any tips maybe you could leave a helpful comment too. Cheers!
Yes it can be done through the outside if you take out the large vent covers. But it's a bit like keyhole surgery! It's fairly easy to pull the fridge out once the gas coupling has been undone at the rear, top left corner. And the holding screws removed at the front. It's been a long time since I took it out and replaced it with a new version. Good luck...

Hi how you service this fridge?

@@TimHollingworth can this be done on the outside of the van through the external vent or does the fridge need to be removed?
