When two evenly matched bullet players play, they won't have time to play many more games than in the other formats. The only reason he can get so many wins quickly is because the opponents resign whenever he gets the advantage. If they beat him in the other formats, they can play out every single bullet game until checkmate to stall.

All throughout the entire thing, except for the end, it was tight... It's a shame that history will remember this by the final score, and not as the narrow affair it was for Hikaru en route to his third title. If this showed us anything it reminded us that Hikaru is dominant, and quite possibly the best online blitz/bullet player out there, but he's not immortal, as it was a tied match (12-12) with just 15 minutes of play to go.

It's not about the king. Yes it can escape, but the black rook is free for white to take after that, and you just don't play with disadvantages that large at this level of chess.
30 minutes is already good...how many games you can get with 15 minutes only? 🤦♂️ GM's bullet mostly end when both have like 20 secs or sometimes to the last second
The format is supposed to give roughly equal importance to each time segment, and I feel that it accomplishes this pretty well, especially because of the increment (90min/10min would yield at most 9 5+0 games, whereas 30min/2min would get us a maximum of 15 1+0 games, but because of the increment these segments usually have a pretty similar amount of games). If you're arguing that the format should be changed not because 1+1 overpowers the other 2 segments, but because 1+1 should be less important than the other 2 segments, then I don't really see why. It's called the Speed Chess Championship, it's supposed to test how good you are at speed chess, and I feel like the best way to do that is to make the competitors have to excel in all 3 time controls as much as possible as opposed to allowing them to neglect bullet.
I really like Danny and Robert, but wish they’d stop pulling up the analysis board during critical times in the match. I’m all for the concept but don’t minimize the actual game to show them work out hypotheticals. Great match and great tournament though .
There is always one or two giving this complaint. Many (including myself) like the analysis board. You can always watch the live position on stream (or login to chess com and follow the game) if you don't like it. Half the fun is seeing the titled commentators break down positions.

The 5 and 3 segments are also speed chess but in 3 hours Naka got a score of 10 and in half an hour he scored 8 extra points because of bullet. That is not balanced. That's why he's won it so many times. He's the best bullet player by far. If we want to see who's the best speed player then cut the bullet section down. There would be a greater mix of overall winners if the bullet was cut down, but it will always unjustly favour Naka when the format is kept so unbalanced.

Honestly, bullet has no business being in the SCC - compared to Blitz that's not real chess - the quality is very bad and most viewers have no idea what's going on in the games because of the pace of moves and it's just not fun to watch as a beginner/intermediate chess player.

I think Nakamura set up a trap to MVL by moving the knight from f6 to d7 and making the MVL see the opportunity of removing the knight from d7 and lately bishop was move from e7 to f6 because MVL thinks the he can use the Queen to remove the pawn at g7 and taking Nakamura own rook at H8 .
