I had a couple School field trips here when I was younger and one family day trip there. I grew up in Missouri but moved to Oregon when I was 15. Elephant rock popped in my head and I looked it up to show my husband and my children:-) I'm glad this video was made so I could show them :-) thank you!
We used to have our family reunion there every year until my great grandpa died in 1988. My mom and dad carved their initials in one of the rocks in the 1950's. They took me to it years ago. Great place!
My mother was born in Graniteville, just a mile or two down the road from the park. I still have family that live in the area and my grandparents worked many hard hours in the quarrys there.
Don, you did a great job on this documentary. my wife, Granddaughter and Great Granddaughter went there is was fun, they also have some Geocaches there , which was fun, my wife like the little wind cave blowing her hair all around. Once again We want to thank you for your time you took to post this. God Bless you and your passion in the field of videography.
I'm from Nashville, TN. I went to Columbia, MO in 2007 to buy a used motorcycle. I drove U.S. and state highways/routes all the way back home. It rained the whole way back. I happened upon this park on the way back. It was a welcome surprise. I enjoyed the park. If time and life permitted, I'd go back again.
