I love NL bicycle infrastructure and all bicycle privileges you have. Valuable tips for all cities. Greetz from Poland 🙂

I am not a dutch cyclies. Yes I cycle every now and then, but much more am I a cardriver. That being said, I really value the cycling infrastructure, as it moves a lot of people out of their cars which in turn frees up the roads for me.

Some of this video was from footage from propel electric bicycle shop. They have a video similar to this one on their RUclips page

It was Propel (Chris I think his name is) who showed some talks on enabling cycling that brought me to UCI, now I'm giving some very serious thought to doing a bachelors degree in the Netherlands. UCI really know their stuff, but they should, they do teach this!

How does higher rates of cycling affect consumption of diesel and gasoline/petrol for a city?
I have been wondering how many people ride a bicycle to help stop climate change and lately to reduce the EU's demand of Russian petroleum, if that's a thing that motivates people? I heard that the Netherlands had a petroleum shortage in the '70's and while that was not the reason for riding bicycles it was certainly a significant motivator to shift to biking from driving.

Why don't you influence them yourself? Those are your councillors.

Funny that foreigners concentrate on Amsterdam for cycling examples. Amsterdam is not the best cycling city in the Netherlands as for infrastructure, by far. It is I would say just below average.
