Omg! A lot of you commenting need to grow up. I'm American and I love SAFP and AF. As a person who is willing to acknowledge the talent and give honor to whom honor is due; (Romans 13:7). I believe both SAFP and AF have accomplishments to be proud of. Both women seem to have strengths in specific areas/meters on the field. With that said, I think both women are super awesome! ;-)

SAFP had this race sewn up from that bend. No-one was catching her.

A couple of dunces on here seem to think Felix faked her injury because "she was way behind" SAFP at the start. EVERYBODY IS ALWAYS WAY BEHIND SAFP at the start. That injury followed her all the way through 2014 until the final race of the season when she achieved the world leading time. She was winning, but not dominating. She finally got there at the end of the season. NOW, in 2015, she's back to 100% and ready to reclaim her title in the 200 (maybe) or claim a NEW title in the 400 @ the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2015

Look at Shelly speed here from the start to about 60m you'll see that shelly and the other two girls gone way infront. Felix can't catch them so it was injury. Bad run by Felix!! but Shelly had work out her technique and the two girls were following her.Good thinking by the girls to get a medal. From here I'd like to see Felix beat Shelly or even Ahoure. lol

Great run SAFP; would have been an interesting charge down the home stretch had Felix not blown her hammie; Shelly-ann put down a Veronica Campbell-Brown (storm the bend) on the field, a tactic that VCB has used successfully against Felix on a number of big occasions.

2 of my all-time favorites right there. Felix was unfortunate in this final to get injured, as much as I LOVE the GOAT SFP, I think Felix would've inevitably caught her for a sub 22.0 second finish.... but we'll never know, so SFP gets the Glory on this day.
Shelley-ann was/is SO dominant in her main race, 100m, but fans forget she won the 200m world championship a couple times as well. She's certainly earned GOAT status, at least in my eyes.
Felix and SFP had so many amazing battles in both sprint events throughout the years, two absolute Legends.... but more importantly, two INCREDIBLE Women. Amazing role models.
Both were great winners and both were gracious losers. Although neither lost too many times in their main events. Lol

SAFP despite all that was said a deserving champion.I don't think trying to show how all her competitors were injured or lacking form will affect the fact that she won three titles more than any other woman by two titles.
Also it might be slightly speculative but AF most probably got injured trying to keep up with the early pace set by SAFP. I personally think that SAFP must be given credit for causing AF to have to out of her comfort zone so early.

I agree Shelly neds 21's to validate her standing in the 200 and i feel confident she'll get there. She went 22.1x in '08 without much experience so she definitely can run big in the event. Don't discount the confidence she has gained, that's a huge factor, plus she's a nut in training.

Bobby Kersee is a coach who neva makes a mistake twice. No one has been able to beat Allyson Felix back to back in the 200m ,ever in her career.
When Felix lost in Athens ,she swept the two golds in helsinki and Osaka .
When she lost again in Bejing ,she swept gold again in Berlin .
When she lost in Daegu ,she aslo picked up gold again in London .
History proves that no woman can beat felix in her 200m in a row. (bearing in mind major championships year after year.

Look at her races from that yr and you will see she was not her dominate self. I don't believe for a second SAFP was the cause of Felix going down, but rather the result of going all out when not being 100% during this biggest race of the season.

I'm with you. It's almost sad that major championship 200m for women have been won in less-than-stellar times. The 80s had ashford, gohr, joyner, marshall, ottey, Jackson running multiple sub-22s. The 90s had ottey, torrence, perec, privalova and later Jones and Miller doing it. The 00s have had just VCB and Felix. Some have posited that because of the big money and prizes going to the 100, women have had little reason to focus on the 200. Whatever the reason, it sucks.

SAFP is a better athlete than VCB. AF has had her trouble with VCB in the past. It was only a matter of time before SAFP would beat her over 200M. SAFP was 2nd in the London Olympics in her first season running the 200M. She finished ahead of many experienced 200m runners. Felix will have major problems beating SAFP as he speed endurance can only improve.

She's not faking but she couldn't keep up with Shelly she was well ahead of her and Felix couldn't catch her. Thats what cause her injury. Gold was gone!! Felix will not come back to beat Shelly. Watch the race properly up 60 2m and then 60m when she fall out the race.

who knows what she was on when she did that, however the fact is she can not do that now. Shelly Ann 100m and 200m champion, Usain bolt 100m and 200m champion, enough said.

i just think Okagbare can run faster. Obviously she is not a wasted talent in the sense of the word since she ran 10.79 but I think with her height and strength she can go 10.6 at least. she is still young and hopefully we can see that soon.

Although SRR was BORN JAMAICAN, but compete for the U.S. SHELLY will DAMAGE HER ASS in the 200m. She's not got the speed for 100/200m. But respect to SRR for taking the GOLD home in the 400/4x4 for her adopted country. She will not win the 200m anytime soon in front of the sprint GODDESS.

Felix could win that is because she is injud and i have watch one of felix youtube interview...she said a 200m final without veronica campbell-brown is no race at all because both have been compiting against each other from day one...

The first sub 11.0 in history was Renate Stecher 1973... who ran 10.9, and 10.8 both times were ratified as the world record. I don't now why you continue with this... like you trying to impart some facts or knowledge... I am well aware of the records .. Thanks.

thats dumb as hell, because we all know that Felix has a stronger finisher than SFP (who's strength is in her start but has no finishing power) and Felix trains at 400 so she definitely has more stamina that SFP...so thats a dumb statement

all times has defeated AF VCB has dropped from 22.17,,,, and the time has beaten VCB AF also registered less than 22.17,,,, usually win with scores below 22 .00,,, I allyson felix did not know that I could not record 22.17,,,,,,,,,, then I do 20.30 in the semifinals,,,, SAFP is a star, but it takes more than 22.17 to beat Felix,,,,, , it turns out that world Cup final was stronger than Olympic final, with the absence of VCB and CJ

Allyson Felix knew she was not well. There is no defeat in giving up before you make a complete fool of yourself. Any athlete who is less than 60% and running in these championship is running the risk of harming himself/herself. Sorry to see you fall Allyson but there is a better way than the way you go.

Not neccesarliy when someone isnt good at something means she doesnt have experience ..It is not about experience .....If Felix isnt one of the best 100 m runner I cant say ''she doesnt have experience '' ...Its about the type of runner you are ...and believe me it won't be long That Okagbare and Felix will be battling on that 200 m again

She was behind because it was the first 50 meters where she is not that good. She could have won this one. Shelly Ann Fraser's time was not that impressive. Unfortunately for Felix, the hamstring injury denied her that chance. They both met again in 100 and 200, the next coming year(2014) where Felix beat SAFP in both races, London(100) and París(200).

First off. I am a fan of them both. Second, You say who knows what she was on. You have got to be kidding right. Bolt ran 9.58. Then his training partner damn near runs the same thing and a 19.24 in the 200m. Who is on what? I would question home first before I look else where. So bad u got to be Jamaican. SMH!
