Synopsis:
It is the 1990s, the tape-cassette is dying, CDs will soon be the rage and a regular arranged marriage will turn out to be a perfect mismatch. Prem (Ayushmann Khurrana) is a shy music buff who runs a tape recording shop in Haridwar. Sandhya (Bhumi Pednekar) likes to dance to the band tunes at her own wedding. He has nightmares about drawing a blank at his English exam. She is about to carve a niche for herself as a teacher.
But now, they are married and they are supposed to spend a lifetime together - and he is still trying to find balance on their scooter ride together. From overcoming his fear of the English language to dealing with an overbearing father, he discovers that his oversized wife, who he thought was a spanner in his spool, will actually lead him to something quite cool.

I have to agree. The way this song was done - from the Music Director to the singers, especially Kumar Sanu, it's was great. I was more happy seeing KS sing for YRF, considering what happened during DDLJ, in 94.

I used to criticize Indian movies for being unrealistic and I used to make fun of their style of dancing and singing. However, when it came to this movie, I watched and listen to the song several times, after watching the movie. This movie and this song is extremely beautiful. I am originally from Iran and was traveling by the airline very bored in the airplane. I was trying to watch movies and tried many western movies, I was not able to keep watching more than few minutes. It was all about cheating and .... non reliable families and lack of culture. A white man was sitting beside me watching action movies of torture and craziness. I was about to explode. I found this movie and watched it a few times. It was so beautiful, that it made me cry each time I watched it. I am so proud of Indian culture. The rich, strong, kind and warm Indian culture is not only the pride of Indian people, but it is the pride of humanity. This land and raised great people, such as Gandhi and Buddha.

Todays music is developed only for discos. The melody comes once in a while but that too with a huge dose of engineering. But things are changing again. We hope we will see Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan and Sonu Nigam regularly along with Sadhna Sargam, Kavitha Krishnamurthy and Alka Yagnik. "Dard Karara" was the best song after a long-long time.

Reliving the best of 90's. I may not have given enough respect to Annu malik and Kumar Shanu but they definitely deserve respect for their work now. It reminds me of the best of 90's and make me rethink why I dislike the 90's Bollywood. We definitely were star struck in that era too and would imagine ourself just like the actors on the screen.
