i think the reason it gets slower is because in a leak found, it is shown that parasite maroon was in the lava pit, so I think the slower the song gets, he was supposed to get deeper in the lava.

A thing I absolutely love about this old version of boiling point is that at the end it gets slower, I like to imagine maroon falling into the lava and slowly melting as the song gets even slower, you can see the effects on his voice make him strained but he can’t do nothing about it and keeps melting in lava and dies.
