The Second Video is coming Wednesday 12PM PST (I will show you how to stay in sports mode 24/7) Sports mode is limited to 3 minutes at a time and it takes 10 minutes for you to be able to go "back" into sports mode
i used to have a jetson ebike, it had 40nm of torque, only 25kph (15.5 mph), the x24 has supposedly 75nm, crazy because i almost never had trouble getting up some steep hills on it. although peddling did help alot when i couldnt get up the hill, it was only 250watts, the x24 has 1200, so im not sure if its built more for speed because it should get alot more powerful acceleration.
@@MrCentralDriver oh yeah thats true, my old e bike prob weight half that and thats pretty generous, i did think about the bike getting better performance at a lower rider weight, but i also remembered your 5'9 which is average height which is a decent but still kinda small on the bike and your slim so you can really get someone taller and skinnier or the same height and skinnier.
When these ebikes fail the hill test I pretty much write them off at that point. The fact that it has a passenger seat also makes it laughable. You hit a slight incline and everyone is going to be falling off it when it fails to climb.
Seen on another review that sport mode limited to ten mins time limit. Don't no how long between the ten min sport mode runs. Maybe off/on gets sport mode back?
just in case if the battery needs to be changed, where can I order them from? They’re not ordinary ones!? please describe or ask the manufacturer where to order from! Please!
I like the architecture of the bike The padded back seat is a waste. There is no reason to have two batteries. It just adds more weight ...It needs fenders... Automatic headlight is no good. Some people like to ride with the light on during the day for safety It's too heavy to be a folding bike... Keep the display simple so you can see it... twenty four inch a good size... If they improve this by spring of 24 I may buy one
Are people not concerned about the long term quality and support of these brands coming out of China? They might be cheaper and showcase great for a month but what about after year when the low quality batteries go bad or a hub motor starts failing. Not so cheap then. Never mind sourcing any other parts that need changing. Also for UK/EU customers we are getting ripped off more if those prices are correct $1899 = £1499.87 but instead they are charging£2199. Sorry but where is £700 extra coming from? and no amount of tax or cost of doing business can excuse that.
I just bought an X24 in uk for 1350. Better then USA prices.. So you have to shop around. All ebike brands wear and replacements will be needed. This bike is built very well you the looks of it. Batteries can be bought from various outlets online. All lithium batteries wear after a few years. Replacement cost usually around 250 to 350. Overall not bad at all. Its a great bike. The Chinese are experts at making decent bikes
Why 52v? Why not 72v, just set it up for lower amps and 20mph out of the factory and let the user decide how much power he/she wants by changing the settings. A 72v bike can do anything a 48/52v bike can do.
The bike would be more expensive running a 72v system the company may have been looking to target a specific price range. The reason why a lot of companies aren't doing 72 volt systems is due to legal reasons. Many of these bikes are already in a legal grey area so most companies rather not take the risk of being fined or sued.
yep and it's much cheaper to market 1200-1500w motor on 48v than to do 52v 750w which feels the same in torque and higher voltage gives faster top speed too.
@@zeppast The market has exploded with 40mph skateboards, 50mph scooters, surrons/talarias...etc over the last 5 yrs. Make it 20mph out of factory to cover legal issues, most cars can go 100mph. 72v controllers are more expensive only because they are not mass produced, parts wise its maybe $1 more. Wired offers a cheap 60v bike now.
@@horsepastedelish I'm not arguing with you man I'm just saying that's why most companies are not coming out with 72v systems on bikes. Just because you limit it to 20mph doesn't make it legal in the vast majority of states due to the power of the motor. Hell most 52v bikes/scooters are not legal because they exceed 750w due to peak power which the vast majority of states except a few have a 750w limit. Again I'm not disagreeing with you I have a 60v 6000w scooter lol. Anything over 1000w is also harder to mass market as well.
Overall, a nice review. However, your confusion over SPORT would have been negated by simply reviewing the manual prior to the review. The switch to SPORT mode needs to be started after the bike reaches a speed of 15 kph (approx 9.5 mph) and it will stay in SPORT mode a maximum of 3 minutes. After those 3 minutes the bike returns to NORMAL mode, and it takes another 10 minutes before SPORT mode can be enabled again.
Nobody a engwe bike my bike has 5000 problems with it and i have been trying to get my money back or a new bike and they sent me inner tubes for my tubeless tires and i have told them its tubeless 500 times and they still say its the tubes that are in the tubeless tire so dont buy anything from them
Wait until your screws that hold the disks for your brakes become stripped from the hub, making it unusable. I was told that they would send me some new screws and that I would have to do all the labor. Company is a joke.
im leaning toward the letric 3.0 long range, tho now considering what else is available for that price range.. I want range.. if you guy scan help on that, I need to decide soon
I almost bit on getting this. It has nice enough speed, good battery life, and 24 inch tires, which seems to be stupidly rare for some reason, even though I think it's the happy medium between 20 inch and 26 inch fat tires. But, they just had to mess it up with two really stupid things: 1) A thumb throttle on the left hand side... I understand that this is subjective, but I think most would prefer a half twist or full twist throttle on the right hand side. Just sayin. 2) This one really sucks, and was the actual deal breaker for me, and it's that it turns off top speed mode after 3 minutes of use, and not only turns it off, but locks the user out for 10 minutes. Why in the name of all f*ck did they ever think that was a good idea? They said it was to "preserve battery life" which is so freakin dumb. Hey Engwe, how about I pay you the money, and you let me decide how I want to ride the mother flippin bike? Jeez man. No sale.
Only 28mph on a “1200w” dual battery ebike? That’s horrible. I can hit close to that on my unrestricted 250w Bosch mid drive. These companies use Chinese watts, Chinese Lumens, and Chinese Newton metres. Not to mention Chinesium Steel. They’re so close to a great product though.
It pays to read the instructions before giving a review. Sports mod is in for 10 minutes. Also, bicycles are supposed to obey traffic laws, like stop signs 😂
Because last year i tried to buy one with your code and then the next day i get an email from them stating if i wanted the bike i have to pay more for it. They didn't want to sell me the bike with 300 discount. We went back and forth and i just said to them if they don't want to honor the purchase then refund me. So f engwe. I got another bike. I won't get an engwe
Like so many of these dope looking fat tyre bikes 750-1200w is lame don't believe the hype! Once you experience riding a 5000w 60v Sur Ron you know what real power is! Even 3000w and 52 v would be better than this weak ass 1200 48v!!

the engwe m20 is a great option. or lectric xp is a great budget option under 1000. the yyg br100 is also a very very good feeling ebike around 1600
