Thanks man. I think you showing that pulley interlock and how simple it is to come off and put back on, well that might save my bacon one day. Thanks again. looking in from NZ
Great video! Thank you for all this great info, would love to find out where you got that socket tool. I've looked all over the web & Yamaha can't find it anywhere?
Very informative. I do have a question. You use this emergency starter because the regular starter will not work. If you start the motor via the emergency starter, what do you put back in order to get home safe. Obviously the outer cowl should be placed back, but what about the other housing?
I have this motor but its a 2020 long shaft model running on a 20" transom. In fact I am on my second exact same motor as I took the first motor back with everyone thinking the motor was defective. Problem I am getting appears to be a spark knock on half throttle. Running premium fuel with no ethanol. Sounds great until about half throttle or so then it appears to be having a spark knock. Yamaha dealers are baffled but they have ordered me a 6 1/2" pitch prop in hopes to rectify this problem. Any owners here of this motor that is a long shaft experience this and if so did you solve the problem and if so what was the fix? Any help is much appreciated, thanks. Terry.
One question, Chris : when you had the problem with the 6HP in the sea you took the 6HP out and putted the 2.5hp on the transom or you just slided aside the 6HP to creat space on the transom to install the 2.5hp?
This actually impressive foresight by Yamaha I wonder if other outboards have similar emergency start procedures.
Chris, gotta add that using the recycling bin was also a genius idea...

Cat: hey what’s going on here?!
Very good vid. thanks for posting. Do you think you will buy a bigger motor at some point? If yes what size would you put on that honwave?
Yes the 6 seems pretty good for 1 person. Can you get up on a plane easily?
Awesome Chris. I wonder if 10hp would put you back on the plane 2up. Should do hey. Great setup by the way. I'm very envious.
Great video! Thanks Chris for posting!
That yellow plastic piece that locks up the recoil, can it be removed?
Hi Chris do you know what size bolts those 3 bolts they were that you took out first. Thanks
Thanks for this video .. if I am in trouble, I´ll remember
I wonder why the cable separated in the first place?

@@ChristopherFlannigan I see. Well, then lets hope that the conditions won't be very rough whenever this is needed :)
Yes what about the outer cowl - did you put it back on for your return?
Very useful. Thank you
