We were due for a really good session and very stoked it happened!! Lots of fun catching these fish, my arms are still hurting!!

I am an FQ biologist and have aged the otoliths from a couple of fingermark around the 800-900 mark. There's a fair bit of variation but that fish would be between 18 -25yrs old. Should keep some of the otoliths and send them up to the lab in cairns 🤙

Bloody good question. For me- coral trout, Nannie’s, yellowfin tuna, whiting and i don’t mind a Spanish for some variety. Tuskies also should be top tier. Lucky that we have soooo many different good eating fish in oz. Very hard to narrow it down.
