Never seen anyone pay so much attention to there own health/ ppe and also keeping the mess/ dust down on any job they do! Well done, from my own experience, you're a different breed. 👍👍
Yeah mate, I wish I had time to care that much about my own health. Sometimes you leave it in the van which is 200 steps away here in wellington and you just have to hold your breath.
its interesting because ppe decreases the odds of health concerns but we all know people who dont use any ppe that work their whole lives that way, and theyre completely fine. cancer and other health issues are still a bit of a mystery in that sense.
I love that you take the time to clean up - constantly!. It's so easy to let things go "until tomorrow's work is done" But I'm sure the owner appreciates it. And as far as I'm concerned, mark of a good carpenter!
Next episode Makita rep: Now here is our entire new lineup of Makita Brushless tools. All in this brand new Makita branded truck. That's the influence of SBC :)
Agreed, I would love to work with folks like Scott. Around here everyone(even electricians!) wants to cut corners and has attitudes that just make the day shitty.
I love seeing all the support from your local companies Scott. Getting those tools in your hand does us all a great service, in fact every time I consider a new tool purchase (in the US) I always, at the very least give tools featured in your videos, an extra consideration. Thanks again for the great content.
As a fellow residental remodeler in the states, I always drop "hopefully it holds" or "get ready to run" before I pull the temporary support walls. It's always funny to see peoples reactions.
😂 Nice one Dan. In Australia our emergency phone number is 000 (the equivalent to your 911). Any time I remove walls etc, I say to the clients or apprentices "I'll dial 00 before you remove the last temporary support, then if the roof collapses I only have to dial one more 0". Some of the looks I've gotten back are priceless 🤣
This is an awesome series. Your cleanliness, safety, and patience is obvious and a pleasure to watch. It’s nice seeing how things can be complicated, but with some hard work and tenacity it can still get done professionally. Helps to have good mates as well!
Glad to see these brands coming through and getting you product m8. You seem like a hard worker and your work speaks for itself. Definitely deserve all the freebies you receive.
My Son, he’s 5, & I watch these together. Me being a plumber & my dad a carpenter our garage is full of tools, so he enjoys the videos & watching the tools.
So awsome Milwaukee gave you that gear, they make some really good stuff now and the packout system is probably the best storage system I've used so far. Great work with the vids as usual :)
Scott- for saving trim or removing trim, invest in the Dalluge 4420 Pry Bar. So nice for protecting walls and the getting under the trim. It is a game changer!
I’ve bought a few Makita tools since watching this channel and can’t believe how smooth they are. I don’t think that Scott is going to give up his Makitas for Milwaukee.
You already have the Martinez hammer. You really need to get the Martinez titanium prybar. It’s sharp and super flat and just wide enough to where it’s perfect for pulling off trim, casings, and molding, are used to split trim all the time until I started using this. It’s awesome.
No wonder I choose Milwaukee over Makita since forever. For Makita (NZ) it would be a no-brainer to sponsor Scott, since he already got so many tools and batteries from them. Now we can see Hikoki and Milwaukee just taking over. Glad to see that, honestly.
Man those freebies. I have to say as a Joiner quality tools cost money. To get them for free must feel awesome. Leaving you with cash to spend elsewhere. Love it. Stay safe
God only knows how much I wish I could be working with you and learning more about this incredible profession. you are the best. thanks for the amazing videos.
Highly recommend the Packout scott, i always notice you run back and forth to your car for a box or two, i now make 2 trips max to my truck and i can start the job and packing up is extremely quick. Combine it with the crate ontop for all your loose stuff.
also, A good tip is too combine the CRATE with a ORGANISER clipped ontop, this is basically the same thing as buying a bigger already made box, but you have more volume with the crate and its cheaper.
Look at those Kiwis, enjoying their normal handshakes and trips to the shops with other people! Bloody COVID. Another fun video cheers Scott. When do we see the final version of Paerau's shed though ?
😅 Milwaukee realy whant you. I use mostly milwaukee and are happy with it. The next im geting is the same nailer. But i miss a track saw, but i think im geting a bosch 18v. Thanks for sharing. Gretings from Norway
Hi Scott, loving the channel, can you please tell me how you price a job like this, do you give a estimate, a quote or I'd it charge up, seems like it would be very hard to price such a big complex job. Cheers Steve
Easy to price. Just make sure you have tags for all unexpected occurrences. A job like this would take around 8 hours to price once you've tabulated everything. Most big suppliers will estimate materials which you still need to go through with a fine tooth comb, then work through the job in your mind a few times. Oh, and always read every word on the plans from front to back at least 5 times.
Don't be afraid to say no to the freebies. Nothing wrong with saying no. At the end of the day it is free advertising for them and they wouldn't be doing it unless it paid dividends for them. Great thing about your channel is that it's not just a tool review show... It really is an insight into the daily work and the odd but here and there about tools compliments that. Stick to your guns.
How do you like the Makita dust extractor? Trying to decide between festool and makita. I know festool is super common and liked, but jeeze it's a lot of money...
Good stuff (as well as the Milwaukee gear). Do you get any feedback from your clients about you providing a lot of wonderful video documentation of their renos? Thanks for the vid. Cheers, David
Don't mean to sound like a dick, but that house construction method ( 3 x 2s everywhere and shiplap on external stud walls) would be called a shed in Scotland where I live. However if it works for the climate and geology and keeps residents warm, dry and safe then who am I to quibble. Your videos are very good; excellent editing and fun to watch, keep em coming.

Got to love that Milwaukee guy come bearing gifts...one of the perks of being Scott Brown!

Bro, absolutely love your channel. Your the best waste of an office worker's time. Actually learning something useful when watching your vids!
Hope that wasn't the chisel that gaston spent ages sharpening when you ripped out the architrave
I am afraid it was :D

Milwaukee is working on Scott big time
I was waiting for Milwaukee or Hikoki to start comping you more stuff. About time.
SBC crew deserve all the freebies!

Great work with the vids as usual :)
Another interesting insight to renovating an older style house. Well done on your Subcriber numbers.😎
DeWalt rep will arrive next week with a new line of their most expensive line of power tools to try out.
If that happens, they will never look back. My van is full of Dewalt and my repair bench is full of Makita.
you spelled Milwaukee wrong lol

I love how clean you always leave your sites!
The NZ poster boy of tools. I’m very envious. You’ll love that pack out kit too. Loving the vids. Keep it coming bro
Another interesting video Scott,doing a great job.👍👍👍
Love Richard's one liners

Maybe you should give that Packout stack to Chef P. It can be his job site kitchen supplies.
Excited to see more Milwaukee action
I’ve bought a few Makita tools since watching this channel and can’t believe how smooth they are. I don’t think that Scott is going to give up his Makitas for Milwaukee.
Removing old architraves - try punching nail in through timber part or all of the way. This often means you can remove architraves intact. Good luck
Favorite NZ builder💯
I’d like to see a video done about framing axes. I don’t know to much about them but I’m interested in seeing how versatile they are

When removing trim and the like, "Zenith Industries ZN700001 Trim Puller" this works great.
You beat me to it. The Zenith Trim Puller is THE best tool for trim removal.
I bought one of these on Amazon for $50 recently. It's great. Really wide contact point.
I have one and love it. Shouldn’t cost more than $30.
175k subscribers and then the gifts start coming in! Haha congrats man

I hope you don't ditch the trusty Makita tools...
Love the channel man! Thanks.
Cool Milwaukee Packout 👍🏻🙌🏻
Those work lights seem to be the biz. Thanks for the video Scott
Need to see more Pareau hammer skills. Cheers mate.
Milwaukee is going to need to come out with a trailer so you can haul around all your graft.
Great video Scott. I think I've said this a few times now- I run both Makita and Milwaukee both have great tools.
