I think i have a problem with my temperatures, in about a 12-15 min ride in the city my engine hits 100Celcious and cooling fan drops it to 92 and hits again 100 after a minute or so. Especially in summer time. I have compared it with my friends xj6 and hi has about 8Celcious lower than me always... Every techincian told me that the bike works at this temperatures but i think its too much for the cooling fan to so much..
ken sou Yeah, I agree. Since my first comment, I have realized that my cooling fan does still work. It should come on about 212 F, but seems to come on a little after that. I also use Engine Ice in place of standard coolant, which helps to keep the temps down.

Think I have the same problem on my 09 FZ. Glad you posted this. Now I know the fan should kick on at 100° C. Thanks for posting.

i think it's normal. but may be you can try to flush the coolant liquid to improve the cooling
may be there are air bubbles inside

Did you just replace the motor of the fan or the entire fan ?
I replaced just the motor + wires from a z1000 fan
