Tomb Raider 2 Glitched Speedrun

The new time save is from a recently implemented glitch called QWOP used in Offshore Rig, Diving Area and Floating Island. (walk button on display bugged until Opera for some reason)
This run can be improved but is decent enough for now
Sub 55 can be done with a better Living Quarters and some other levels
Played on UKBox exe (aka souls exe)
Also if anyone didn't know Barkhang Monastery is mostly skipped because of a Prayer Wheel duplication glitch.

Reminded me of my childhood memories! Spent months playing this game! Nicely played. An hour spent in good cause.
Speedrunning can often look the same, but you just know when you’re watching Critzb. He has a certain style and competence with this game that I haven’t seen anywhere else
This was the first great 3D game I played. Picked up a Voodoo 3DFX card for it. Ah the memories. Great run. It’s really fun to watch all the bits I used to remember and you bypass them so quickly! Those opera house glitches are insane.

That was a dive bug, if you hit the wall and the ground at the same time while diving you wont take any fall damage.The sidesteps and jumps before hand are to get the correct position.

can u explain the glitch where u clip into the floor its pretty new right
This is new for full TR2 runs and is called QWOP, I really don't have my head around what goes on but something like -
Jumping into a step (or low ceiling) at a precise angle will give put Lara in a wired state (QWOP ready/ QWOP primed), you then need to turn this state into a QWOP by jumping in a low ceiling area or sloped area (floating Island).
Once qwopped Lara starts some sort of counter (falling distance counter?) when this reaches max Lara will fall through the ground and holding grab will let you clip back up. (I believe the clip back up is the same mechanic in TR3 runs called "quick sand bug")
~Offshore Rig~ Is pretty straight forward, the setup form the key gets the QWOP primed then jump at the step to QWOP straight to the door.
~Diving area~ (1st QWOP is only to open a door ahead) and shows pistols being drawn so I can time the counter, 2nd QWOP is pretty easy for this version as you can just head straight to the next door with no timing.
~Floating Island~ This one needs a "slower QWOP ", all others go straight from max running speed into QWOP . In order to get slower QWOP you need to let go of forwards I believe a frame before Lara would normally enter QWOP(all the buffers are to get this part to work). The x3 circles are just for timing like the pistols.
*I should also mention that the save and load during Floating QWOP is to advance x1 frame only (normal buffering will actually advance x2 frames at a time) There are two outcomes for that QWOP and I got the one needing an odd number of frames to pass.
I'm sure there are much better ways to explain this but hopefully this helps in some way :D

OMG - i play this game first in 1998 - and i dont have a mind what i gonna do in this level - and i accidentaly discover this tip - 5:19... and i think - oh so easy level/// when i come back to this game - it was much harder cause i dont know that a glitch)) and then i found fence glitch on bartolli s hideout myself) im surprised that game still alive - and so many glitches!!!!!! im glitch addict now///
Is it weird, after all of the speedruns I've watched of this game, I'm still trying to figure out the ladder bug? QWOP is pretty new to me, but I can do all the other glitches...

@@UpsideDwnFish because I was on twitch months ago and I told a huge speedrunner about this tip (he didn't know about it), can't remember his name
It was heard about a few months ago so your tip sounds like it was what got it in the run. Not only saves 5s but it also saves a bit of HP making it slightly easier to get past Venice without using a small med
@@UpsideDwnFish yes well I just discovered that when I was playing TR2 on emulator. I just tried to trigger the door without pushing the button because it's pretty usual in TR2, devs just programed some parts like this : it's the fact to be in the place that triggers the event, not pushing the button or taking the item, so I tried this one and it worked. Then I just told some guy on twitch who was speedrunning TR2 (one of the biggest speedrunners of the game but I can't remember his name) and he tried it on live even if he didn't believe me and he was really impressed it worked lol. For you to know it's one thing I really love : try to find som new shortcuts or glitches in retro games. I have some more glitches/shortcuts on TR2 that I didn't see on this run so I guess you don't know about it? I'm pretty sure there's one in Tibet that nobody discovered yet because I've never seen any speedrunner use it on his run...

How did you get all the key things to end barkhang that was crazy? The seraph seemed to turn into a prayer wheel 😂
That's pretty much what happens, I think it's on the lines of the seraph remembers data of the last object you had but I could be wrong.There is nothing really done to make this work, just use the first one normally and the others navigating from the menu. It was a little hard to believe when it first was discovered

Its hard to say at the moment, I expect there will be a small qwop or 2 found but no idea where.
If the Tibet door after the hut wasn't a pain we could skip a few mins but currently impossible to skip.I didn't go too crazy with this run as there may be something new found soon
