Thanks, I was using Brave browser which by defaults blocks ads, hence I wasn't getting any events. Now things are working on another browser.

Thanks. I'll investigate a future video on that. I do have a video coming out at the end of this month about GA4 and Tag manager. Although I don't go specifically into adding custom events, Tag manager would be another way to add custom events.

I came to this video because for the life of me I couldn't get it to work. The problem ended being that I was using Brave browser and that it blocked the analytics script. Maybe this helps someone, as another comment already mentioned, turn the shields and adblockers off!
