The best option for shoes when you attend your first dance class is always the ones you have to hand. That way you wont make a huge investment in shoes before you figure out if you like the dance style. Once you have decided to get a pair of shoes specifically for dancing the main thing is to decide whether you want leather or suede soles. The brand I think are well worth looking at are Werner Kern who make an incredible range of shoes including many vintage styles, with various heights of heal. Tower Ballroom Shoes in Blackpool stock the full range. There are however many other options. A lot of people take a pair of comfy Converse All Stars low tops and glue suede soles to the bottom (any cobbler will do this for you cheaply) and they produce a comfortable dance shoe with lots of glide. The shoes I'm wearing are the B.A.I.T. Brittany sandals, super pretty and comfortable for walking and activities (just not dancing hehe!) I'd say Joe Browns run true to size, I'm usually a size 7 in s lot of shops and that's what I wear in their shoes ❤️
