FYI Australia is very big and it is nothing to do a 7,000 km road trip. We have done it several times. Winter in Melbourne is usually wet, windy and cold whereas up North it is around 20+ C and called the Dry Season. In Summer the North has their Wet Season (hot, wet, humid and sticky) and can have cyclones which can be nasty. Down South in Melbourne the Summer is hot and dry and around 25+ C - 40 C with minimal humidity every day, unless we get rain then it can be humid for a day or two. A happy medium for most of the year is Sydney to the Gold Coast with mostly mild Winters and any humidity is bearable. My recommendation is when visiting Australia, choose your preferred season if it’s skiing, Winter down South, if your preferred season is Summer, start in the North around May and work your way down south along the coast and arrive in Sydney and prop for Xmas and New Year. Literally 12 months of Summer. I won’t take offence at the AFL comments because my UK husband called it “aerial ping pong” when he moved here until he really got into it and became an AFL tragic.
Yoho, Lake Louise, Jasper, Banff and Drumheller Dinosaur Museum are all worth a visit in western Canada. Victoria on Vancouver Island too. Grouse Mountain to see Grizzly bears behind an electric fence. There's a lot to see around Brisbane. Tangalooma on Moreton Island, North Stradbroke, Lamington NP, Sunshine Coast / Noosa, Bunya Mountains, Rainbow Beach / Fraser / K'Gari Island, Girraween. So if anyone is desperate for a job, Brisbane can be a good base once employed.
Well, Perth is a 17 hour flight from the UK. Bill Bailey once said, Western Australia cracks open your soul.
😊
