Hey Jeff, that's one of my favorite hikes on the Island as well. The falls are magnificent at that time of year and its about time you and Andreas shouted out from there. How secluded is it possible to make The Big Walk? Levada do Caldeirão Verde looks beautiful but far to crowded for my tast. The Trans Madeira race have opened my eyes on how stunning the nature is on Madeira.
Yeah the trans madeira is of course an amazing hike, it’s more challenging as well. The big walk is designed to be a bit more “luxurious” because that’s what I’ve found people to enjoy on our previous big walks. I did mention that I was initially leaving it out for something else, but I had difficulty letting it go.
We have a strategy in place to beat the crowds best possible, at major attractions as well.
Loads of beautiful hikes in Madeira and we’ll have more to offer once we’re a bit more established ;)
Hope to have you on at least one walk, day 1 would be the best place to start ;)
