NS Trains in Virginia in the Blue Ridge Division Late October 2023 to Early November 2023

In late October of 2023 some friends and I took a train ride to Virginia to railfan the busy CSX and NS lines across the state.
We started in the popular railfan hotspot of Ashland on CSX's RF&P Subdivision and later worked our way west to Crewe, Lynchburg and Roanoke to photograph NS.
This video features the NS portion of our trip. The CSX one will be up eventually as a separate video. Many of these were shot of former N&W trackage but there are also a few on the former SOU mainline in Lynchburg.

Wonderful catches and a fantastic trip❤️👏 Certainly one of the greatest trains was the High hooded locomotive (SD 40-2 )leading the switcher Job!!! Certainly the Roanoke trains were awesome catches as was Vicker Virginia!!! Montgomery Tunnel was terrific too! I loved the old signals in the Lithia area and where they were installing new signals!

I spent several days down in Roanoke last spring, along with traveling through the Blue Ridge Mountains. Definitely a very beautiful area of the country!
