These cards are the main reason I got back into G.I. Joe. Was in the "too old for toys" phase and collecting cards and comics, came across these and then started to hunt down the comics and so on. Awesome find HCC.
Great video on these! I loved these cards as a kid and I still have mine. I need like 10 or 12 more for a complete set.
Oh my. I collected these during sophomore year in high school. Loved opening these and the GI Joe TCG cards that came out later.
I bought an entire box of these about 22 years ago. I got 2 complete sets from that box. I still have one in a binder today.

loved these cards as a kid, it's pretty awesome to see them again. More than likely i'm gonna hunt them down. They really helped push the whole mythos forward for me and keep my imagination rolling back then, especially considering how popular the marvel universe cards were at the time. Nowadays you can just google images search an endless gallery of joe art but man back then, it was such a treasure to have other forms of media for Joe. Great review brother!
I have the set in a binder, I used to get them at the baseball card/comic book shop around the block when I was a kid. They were great as an intro to the comics and as replacement file cards.
I had all of those at one time. Great memories, thank you!

When I was a kid, the local card shop had a sealed complete set of these on the top shelf behind the counter for a few years. I wanted it so bad but could never afford it.

Hey yeah! I have two complete sets of the cards, and recently inventories the third set so I can trade my way to a complete third set.
I got a whole box of these when I wad a kid from Kaybee toy stores! Someone decided that they were not worth the effort to try to sell, because no kid wanted these. For the right price, I took a whole box and got nearly 2 whole sets from it! My favorite card will always be Mercer! Loved that character since he came out in the movie! Great find! Wish you could have gotten a Stalker card for your collection! Thanks for sharing!

Awesome! I had a set still unopened for about 5 years, lost and found it about a year ago. I opened it up and I was exited with what I got. It drove me to buy a complete set of the series. Very awesome to have.

I got this whole series of cards in a "footlocker" box when I was a kid. Great set that clued me in on key characters that I wouldn't have known about otherwise. I still have the box with the cards, you can see it on a shelf when I'm on camera in my videos.

I've got all these card. A full 200 card set. I love the artwork on these! My favorites of the set where the first 5 cards which where all Eco-Warriors cards. Cesspool, Toxo-Viper and Sludge-Viper. Clean Sweep had a nice card too!

Oh, this is a fun, pleasant surprise! I think I vaguely remember seeing these around, though not sure I ever had any, as I was about 18, 19 when these made the scene, and I was most likely saving up for a guitar at the time. ^^;;
And I greatly agree, re: Firefly's awesome uniform. Back in 84/85, I did ponder using him as an army builder, simply because he looked that cool! XD

I have a complete set of these in a binder. I bought the set a few years ago off ebay for about $20. I like them and enjoy flipping thru them with my son from time to time.
Good video. I worked at a comics shop when they came out so I got a box and put a set together. I had stopped buying the toys at that point so I didn't know some of the characters. It was an easy way to catch up. Now all these years later I'm trying to get all of those figures from the '90s.
I used to love trading cards as a kid. I was really into Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh. I stopped and got more into toy collecting.
Did these cards come with the action figures at some point? I know they had those cards with costumed models as the Joes and Cobras, which was pretty cool.

I like those GIJoe-centric videos that are not necessarily on figurines. I've never seen or heard of those trading cards before. You should review the 2 Joes movies with the p.o.v of a GIJoe enthousiast since they just green light the third movie yesterday.
Hi! Yes I had no idea these existed until last year! I came across someone selling a large loose collection of these! I like how these cards blend the comic book, cartoon series and toy line. The Honor Role cards honor the fallen Joes and Cobras mostly from the comic book.

Loved these as a kid, I still have some but they aren't in best condition. Friends traded these years before Fleer X-Men sets.
Those are some rather cool cards for being normal collectible cards.

If I'm not mistaken, The HONOR ROLE cards are for the dead characters in the comics when the card pack was made.
I did get some bootleg versions of those cards. In this island nation where I am at, local printing companies like to reprint cards from the states. The bootleg ones I have do not have any color on the backside, all is printed in different sades of grey, I might do a video of them in the future. :)
I have 2 complete sets. One in a ordinary heavy binder. The other in the same company binder.
I have a set and a bunch of extras somewhere.
I no longer have mine. Honor roll means they died in battle from what I remember. Lamprey and viper were from the sonic fighters line.

Man, I wish my secret santa from Boy Scouts got me these instead of the dumb baseball cards he got me. IIRC, that was Christmas 1990 or 1991. I got my person a GI Joe Locust I believe, pretty good vehicle for the 90's, so I was quite annoyed to get something that I wasn't interested in at all.
