    Very slick blog. Too funny. I have an RZ67 and I've been trying to test trip my Elinchrom's (BX and RX) with the Speed Trigger that came with them. I set my shooting mode to 'M' for multiple exposure to save film. I couldn't get the camera to trip my strobes, till it dawned on me that the camera's sync won't trip the strobes in M mode. I tried syncing cable directly to the strobes from the lens, then with the Speed Trigger FP'd to the lens. I even turned off my Metered Prism. Then it dawned on me, 'M' mode was probably the last light that went on. Took me a whole morning to figure that out... Thank you for simplifying. Very nice channel. Great title too.

    Loved your video! That mini headphone jack on your remote trigger can be used to pop your flash with a “2.5mm to pc sync cable”. That is what I use on my RB67.

    The mini USB port on the trigger is for firmware update I think. The minijack is for PC sync cable with male/female ends.

    Does the flash trigger & hot shoe need to be a specific brand?

      Read your manual first, M is for flashbulbs. X For electronic flash.

  • @andyvan5692
    @andyvan5692 2 года назад +1

    the reason for M flash setting is that originally 'flash' was a pyrotechnic powder, gunpowder initially?, not sure on this exact chemical, but this takes 1/60th of a sec. to acheive full power (white balance), so there is this delay to ensure the colours are correct, with speedlights or studio strobes, the Zenon bulbs (like fleurescent lights), fire imediately to full power, so NO delay is required.

    My PC sync cable doesn't 'click' into the port on the camera and can't seem to find one anywhere that looks as if it would. All PC sync cables come with a kinda twist/screw collar, but Mamiya ports don't accept them so the cable can easily fall out. If you can show me where to find a suitable cable that will click (and that also goes to a 2.5mm jack) would be much appreciated.

    Hey man, great video! Quick question, how do you select the best strobe settings? or you just shoot 1/1 in the flash and controlled aperture and shutter?

    • @noirprism
      @noirprism  4 года назад +1

      Thanks man! I usually have a desired shutter speed in mind. With film I’ll shoot at half box speed. One I put those two settings in my light meter I’ll adjust the flash power to achieve the desired aperture. I hope this helps!
