Very slick blog. Too funny. I have an RZ67 and I've been trying to test trip my Elinchrom's (BX and RX) with the Speed Trigger that came with them. I set my shooting mode to 'M' for multiple exposure to save film. I couldn't get the camera to trip my strobes, till it dawned on me that the camera's sync won't trip the strobes in M mode. I tried syncing cable directly to the strobes from the lens, then with the Speed Trigger FP'd to the lens. I even turned off my Metered Prism. Then it dawned on me, 'M' mode was probably the last light that went on. Took me a whole morning to figure that out... Thank you for simplifying. Very nice channel. Great title too.
Loved your video! That mini headphone jack on your remote trigger can be used to pop your flash with a “2.5mm to pc sync cable”. That is what I use on my RB67.
The RB67 is a solid machine! Getting a Portable strobe will be a game changer! Just like I said in the video, you don’t have to break the bank to get one either. Thanks for checking out the video!
Happy birthday! I lol’d at your Profoto teeshirt and sticker gag. Not having fancy gear is a bonus to your channel IMO as it reassures visitors that they don’t need fancy to start shooting. I’m subscribed now and looking forward to being inspired with some great shots and tutorials. I just picked up a RZ setup and am learning how to use my flash gear with it. Thanks for the video!
Hey, great video! I don’t suppose you would know anything about connecting a Mamiya RZ67 Pro with an Elinchrom portable flash? Does the flash trigger & hot shoe need to be a specific brand?
Thanks for watching! Sadly I’m not 100% sure about this one. I would try it with the hot shoe in this video, I don’t think the brand would make a difference.
the reason for M flash setting is that originally 'flash' was a pyrotechnic powder, gunpowder initially?, not sure on this exact chemical, but this takes 1/60th of a sec. to acheive full power (white balance), so there is this delay to ensure the colours are correct, with speedlights or studio strobes, the Zenon bulbs (like fleurescent lights), fire imediately to full power, so NO delay is required.
My PC sync cable doesn't 'click' into the port on the camera and can't seem to find one anywhere that looks as if it would. All PC sync cables come with a kinda twist/screw collar, but Mamiya ports don't accept them so the cable can easily fall out. If you can show me where to find a suitable cable that will click (and that also goes to a 2.5mm jack) would be much appreciated.
Hey Torrance, love your channel, thanks a ton for sharing this tip. I just picked up a 'minty' rb pro sd and as I'm not "Profoto down" either lol can't wait to try it out...oh and Happy Belated B'day!
I HEAVILY fuck with your energy yo. I was literally trying to relearn these techniques and yours was the newest i came across. Definitely keeping up with your work. Peace.
Great information...thank you. Question - there are two models of the Hotshoe adapter. Since the RB67 doesn't have a hotshoe, did you use the coldshoe version?
Hey man, great video! Quick question, how do you select the best strobe settings? or you just shoot 1/1 in the flash and controlled aperture and shutter?
Thanks man! I usually have a desired shutter speed in mind. With film I’ll shoot at half box speed. One I put those two settings in my light meter I’ll adjust the flash power to achieve the desired aperture. I hope this helps!
Love this, thanks man. I’ve had so much trouble finding a tutorial on flash with the rb67. If you don’t mind, can you add links to the accessories you bought? Such as the hot shoe adapter, strobes, light meter, etc. Thanks in advance my man.
I know what you mean! I had the hardest time finding a flash tutorial anywhere. I added a list to the description, let me know if you have any other questions as well. I’m always willing to help!
Man, you're hilarious! You can get a sync cable with a 2.5mm jack plug to go into the side of the trigger, but it's not going to do anything your hotshoe isn't.
Bruh youre the funniest dude ive seen in the film youtube community. Someone run this dudes subscriber count up!
Thanks bruh! You spitting facts!

Profoto bit had me dying, love your videos man!
Thank you!
Yeah: TO HELL WITH PROFOTO!!!!
yo same
Hey this was super, SUPER helpful - I just picked up an RZ67
Do you have to connect the trigger to the lens with the sync cable? Would the trigger not connect to the flash anyways?
The mini USB port on the trigger is for firmware update I think. The minijack is for PC sync cable with male/female ends.
Great video, sense of humor is working!!
I love my RB67, and love using it in the studio. Got to get me some portable strobes. Nice video man.

Man, great info. BY chance do you list of items needed for similar set up (assuming I have a light. I have Godox 600b and seek to pair with my rb67)

Great video!!
The exact tutorial I was looking for!!
Some good stuff man!
Good video man. Thanks for the good information. Nice tip on that little hot shoe attachment. I'm gonna sub.
Thanks for the sub! I’m glad this helped you!
Great tutorial man. I needed this before I shot a whole blank roll because my lens was on "M" :)
This is music to my ears! (Well my eyes? Since I’m readying?!) idk lol but I’m glad this helped you!
Read your manual first, M is for flashbulbs. X For electronic flash.

thank you for the information! greetings from Taiwan
Great information...thank you. Question - there are two models of the Hotshoe adapter. Since the RB67 doesn't have a hotshoe, did you use the coldshoe version?
I have the hotshoe one. But the cold one would work too
@@noirprism Only if they have a PC sync Connection Port or 3.5mm Mini Phone Connection Port
What Polaroid film are you using with your RB67 as I’m thinking of getting a Polaroid back for mine.
I was using fp 100 c pull apart film. At the time of this it was 50 bucks a box 🙃
@@noirprism thanks
Glad I found this channel. Are you using Photoflo after developing? Helps like crazy with dust and water marks on negatives.
Where did you get the Polaroid films?
I was grabbing them off eBay but now it’s so expensive
Belated birthday wishes. Funny video. Was the Polaroid taken with the RB? I've got a Instant back but didn't think film was available.
Yes it was... its out there but for a pretty penny.
Thanks man!! 👏
DOPE INFORMATIVE VIDEO! SUBBED!!!

@@noirprism thank you so much for the list! But what was the trigger you used for the shoot?
@@alekseyhod the trigger came with the strobe but you can find triggers on amazon. I know Godox has a few good ones. I hope this helps.
stoked!
Which camera strap do you use for your Mamiya RB67?
Man this strap came with the camera. But it’s made of leather and is really strong
is it possible to use an adapter such as yours but it has only pc to pc connection?
Yes! This adapter has pc to pc. I put a link to it in the description. Check it out and let me know if it helps
You’re so funny 😂 bro thanks for sharing
