They stopped trying to appeal all their games to Western audiences by going through Western game studios and decided to keep all their development in-house back in Japan so they can focus on what they want their games to be like.

Tnargav Pretty accurate. My first playthrough on Leon A took me 8 hours and 7 minutes. My second time playing thru Leon A, I beat it in 3 hours and 11 minutes.

e3 opened up to the puplic but the press conferences that take place 2-3 days before the expo are only for journalist and industry insiders. the press conferences is where you get all the new shiny reveals and infos like the one above for resident evil 2 (remake)

This moment was one of the greatest of my life, I've always loved the re series so much, re2 was always my favorite, i own almost every version of it that was released and have beaten it countless times. This moment and the countless times i played the remake were phenomenal and I will always remember them.

Damn, the way they worked with lights on stage really makes a difference when the initials RE2 appear. I think I'd have peed a little with excitement if I was there, such a well directed trailer, love how they focused on screams and horror instead of action.

The Witcher III, The Last of Us, Resident Evil remake. All single player games made by dedicated developers who pride themselves on delivering the best experience possible rather than finding ways to monetize the shit out of them. Bethesda and EA should take a long hard look at what kinds of games garner the respect, admiration and dollars from gamers.
jtno2 You are dam right sir. I just don't get the multiplayer thing that's not a game to me. A game needs story character something you can get invested into. Characters you care about a story that keeps you playing good level design good acting good music fun and engaging.

Man I remember how hyped I was to play this game. I never played the original since it came out in the 90s but when I seen this I loved it so much. I played this game nonstop on PS4 and even managed to get platinum. What a phenomenal experience.

5 years ago, damn... I remember watching this for the first time (was still working in video game publication back then).
The team throwing pitch ideas for skeleton articles to write before the presentation so that when they actually revealed the game, we would just need to flesh out the article and publish it right away. I pitched RE2 Remake and my editor was like, sure lol but I doubt it.
As soon as I saw the rat in the video, I KNEW that it was RE2 Remake. The chills I got... this game is a masterpiece and will no doubt go down as one of Capcom's - or even gaming's - best remakes of all time.

The best part of this is being 18 at the time the original RE 2 came out and playing it and beating it and knowing the awesome historical and sentimental and the amazing memories of this game that these young kids born nowadays know nothing about.

i had just finished elementary school and didnt know this game had even been revealed. i was still a fan of the older RE games but wasnt nearly as much of a fan as i am now. i didnt get to play this myself until summer 2022 after unfortunately already knowing the plot and the gameplay. despite this it's become my 2nd favorite game of all time following very close behind Skyrim
