Godin guitars may not be the prettiest, nor are they ugly, but they're some of the best value guitar you can get these days. Solid build, very good electronics, and of course their prices are never unfair. Id say they're midrange guitars, but not expensive.
+67foxcharlie You can get a godin session for about 500 US and its made in North America. Build quality is as high or better than Gibson or Fender USA. Just depends on what kind of frills you want. Neck binding, inlay, brand name. Godin doesn;t have those on the sheap ones. They do make really great instruments. Seagull, Norman, Simon Patrick, LaPatrie, and Art and Lutherie are all Godin and all made in Canada and the US. Seagull Entourage 300 US Nice sounding and playing for a fraction of a Taylor.
That new body shape makes me so upset. I was actually wanting to get a Summit, but that tiny little contour on the shoulder that they added completely turned me away from buying one. They had it right the first time, IMO. And what sucks even more is that I can't even find a single used model anywhere. Did Godin get a love letter from Gibson or something?
www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SumCLHBBG I bought mine here at Sweetwater. without the contour. awesome guitar. the tone is really incredible. arguably the best guitar for $1600 anywhere
+ReyYbarra It grows on you. I use to hate the look of an LP guitar. I also didn't like the skinny head until I had a seagull. Thing stays in tune even when doing bends. Smart design because it keeps the strings closer to straight alignment with the nut.
why can you put the same pickups in a hollow body and in a solid body electric guitar and both guitars sound nothing alike? If the chambers go into the pickup cavity it will make a difference.
+JustAnother Dummy What?...You can absolutely hear it through the amp. You take a Gibson 335 and a set of burstbuckers sounds like a 335....a Gibson les paul with burstbuckers sounds different. ..because of the chambers and airflow. And it always comes through the amp.
My god these guitar manufacturers are lazy these days... I mean, there's really nothing much different in these instruments than the ones from the 50's, even the goddamn shape is taken directly from Fender and Gibson. I really wish the innovation part of guitar designing would come back, but I think the people who buy these instruments are partly to blame also, because they don't seem to care too much about that.
+aDotFromTheFuture Do you see any 80's style guitars anymore..nope and its because it doesn't sell right now. You only have 3 styles, single cut, double cut, and awful. What you should be looking at is how many small changes that make a difference when playing. I hate the thickness of an LP but the Icon Type 2 I own has a great neck. Also has some interesting electronics that no 50's guitar ever had. Thank you semour duncan for the P Rails Not to mention the HDR is awesome. I don't think you are looking very hard. What do you want a triangle design with a drum built in???
thorinbane So you think that the design of the electric guitar is at it's most perfect level? I actually build guitars and design them, so I guess I'm looking things differently than you are, and I feel like there's still plenty of things that could be improved upon, perhaps not by me, but at least I'm not just copying what others have done before me and calling it my own design. People most likely thought that the acoustic guitar was the last design in the guitar family, but then came the semi-acoustic and then the solid body electric...
JustAnother Dummy I don't know how long you thought about ways in which these guitars could be improved, but obviously you wouldn't be able to come up with a new guitar innovation just like that. It takes dedication, knowledge and a very long time to come up with something worthwhile. Pretty much everything gets improved upon constantly, so why would guitars be any different? It's only a matter of time until someone comes up with a completely new guitar design.
+aDotFromTheFuture who in hell said I sat around thinking about guitar design.I don't give a shit about that.I was just agreeing with you for a change o OK I'll design one 😉ill put 2 necks on it. 😩aw its already been done.😀illmake ithave more strings😫nope that too,☝ah ha I got it I'll hook it up to Nintendo😬. nope I got better things to do.
theres a revolutionary guitar... not. why is godin ripping of les pauls, strats, and p basses? If I want an LP ill get one or maybe a prs. I've got two godins one of them is the lgxt and stxt and they're nice because it is different. Godin has expanded so much but their stuff is starting to lack originality bigtime. I support canadian made stuff but if your copying american ill just get american..
+Stobes1 My Icon 2 and 3 and old SD's Have a LP shape as do a ton of guitars. But the more recent Godin look even more like LPs. It has to do with comfort zone of buyers. Don't want anything that would be hard to get rid of because of a non traditional shape. Parker makes great guitars yet I won't get one because of that goofy handle thingy on the upper bout.
Can't wait to see & hear the new lineup of Godins, first hand. Big fan. Love my Godins.
pro tip: you can watch movies at flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching a lot of movies lately.
@Rene Kohen Yea, I've been using Flixzone for since november myself :)

I wish my name was Rich Buns.
I want to see some bases! any basses man just something
+Gerald Brunet Isn't that a bass in the video?
+MattWhatsGoinOn yes, yes it is
as for the long and short of it I'd buy it cause it sounded good played easy and sounded good not for all the bullsht they expect us to believe.
Rockin'
A 400 dollar Korean guitar is just as good as many high end guitars.

I bought a 150 dollar takamine acoustic at guitar center that sounds great. Great action.

I believe I read that Gibson had a beef with the original's shape and Godin caved and revised the shape.

I preferred the 2015 body contour of classic CTs.
not liking the new body shape at all for Summit Classic CT.
I know seagulls are great...but that DAMN headstock! Ugh
+ReyYbarra It grows on you. I use to hate the look of an LP guitar. I also didn't like the skinny head until I had a seagull. Thing stays in tune even when doing bends. Smart design because it keeps the strings closer to straight alignment with the nut.
I'm sorry man, all respect, and i'm only doing this because I got to be first.Dick BunsI owe you a beer.
those air chambers do nothing for the tone ect. it just lightened the. body. remember pickups are not microphonic!!!.
why can you put the same pickups in a hollow body and in a solid body electric guitar and both guitars sound nothing alike? If the chambers go into the pickup cavity it will make a difference.
+WorshipGuitarPlayer because there in. different positions acousticly you can hear the difference but not thru the amp
+WorshipGuitarPlayer pickups don't work like a mic go to wills easy guitar he can explain it much better he has a few bits on it
+JustAnother Dummy What?...You can absolutely hear it through the amp. You take a Gibson 335 and a set of burstbuckers sounds like a 335....a Gibson les paul with burstbuckers sounds different. ..because of the chambers and airflow. And it always comes through the amp.
+WorshipGuitarPlayer your not comparing apples to apples those are 2 different pickups ! end of discussion!

that's true but what other way could you make the basic shape.kknobs. and cosmetics yea color yes shape not really a hole lot .
