Whenever I listen to this song, i instantly remember the first time i heard it. I was 8 years old It was on the radio and me and my family were driving through the night, and i was just staring out of the window while listening to this song. It's such an amazing song.
Aw.. I can totally relate to that feeling. I've had songs like that when I was little.. This is definitely one of my favorite songs by Rhianna, but I love all of her stuff. She really is special. I always find myself coming back to this one, and a few others.

idk the first time i heard it, but i'll always remember driving with my mom to go pick my older brother up from work. we didn't have much money, but we got those honey mustard pretzels to split between the 3 of us, and we each got our own sodas. i remember going home and having a blast watching my older brother drink some beers and play cod bo2 with his lil multiplayer clan. nothing could touch me back then. before my dad took his life and i lost that innocence. i never really miss my dad never knew him well, but that was the first kinda earth shattering thing that broke down the old beauty i used to see. my life has gotten much better, but i'm inna slump.

When I was in fourth grade, a seventh grader had a brain tumor, and we made necklaces for them. Every time a plastic diamond charm was used, one of the teachers would sing "Shine bright like a diamond". Around Christmas, when I came home from Girl Scouts, I learned that the student died. That's all I can think of when I hear this song.

Commuting on 93 north going home at night is a dangerous affair in Massachusetts. You just never know when someone will change lanes or go drag racing past you. It’s a treat to just be by yourself on the road with this song playing and occasionally see the increasingly rare fox make it across the road safely. Some I would frequently pass by would know my driving route by this song. I’d be blaring my Rihanna CD from my car after a closing when they were coming out of their dens to forage so I’d always see them.
I don’t see them at that time of night, or at all, anymore. In that area contractors have paved over some of their last remaining homes along that road this year.
I can’t help but wish for that time back because there will always be another shopping mall. My four legged Rihanna fans have their own challenges, they won’t come back.
