All across Central and Northcentral PA, severe thunderstorms and destructive winds caused widespread tree damage. Numerous severe thunderstorm warnings were issued and even a Tornado Warning. Trees fell on power lines, snapping lines and power poles all across Lycoming and Sullivan Counties. Multiple homes and buildings were damaged by falling trees. One commercial building in Hughesville had its metal roofing ripped off in front of me. Power is out across Forksville and Hillsgrove areas as dozens of trees came down across Rt. 87 and Rt. 154.
Near Laporte, dozens of trees were also downed across Rt. 220, and some out buildings struck by falling trees. One house was narrowly missed by falling trees but caused headaches for homeowners now tasked with removing large trees from their properties.
At least one structure fire resulted from either lightning or power lines igniting the home near Huntersville, PA.
Additionally, damage was reported to homes caused by falling trees in Williamsport and Northern Lycoming County.
