Thx for producing this great video Loyd! It was fascinating to get an informative look behind the scenes at Inov8. You asked excellent questions, often made me smile, the quality of filming, editing and production was first class. I love watching your vids. You inspire me to keep reaching for my running goals but as importantly, just enjoy running.
Thanks for the lovely comment, it’s really appreciated. We put a lot of time and effort into the channel and when we get comments like this it makes it all worth while. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 🙏🙂
What a great trip. It's nice to see how friendly and welcoming the people are at Inov8. They may not always get it right, but they are a very credible UK brand and create some great products. Nice to see UK brands competing on a global scale.
It was a fantastic trip Rob and everyone was so welcoming and they really look after us. We’re definitely going back to the Lake District next year, such a stunning place 👍
So many great things in one video, TrailFly Zero Drop, Jack Scott interview (I’m running Summer Spine North in 2025), shoe history I want some silver and green shoes and some great running. Thanks Loyd and Liga.
Thank you for sharing - gods back garden the Lakes. Just come back from 2 weeks back again in December. Now I know what shop I am going too in December to get kitted out.
Thanks guys! Really enjoyed the video getting to see the journey of shoe development. And Striding Edge - one of my favourites whenever in the lakes. Great work Loyd & Liga!
Great to see round the new headquarters. I used to visit them in Woolsingham when they first started. They’ve come a long way since their Weardale days. I remember turning up for races in a pair of mudroc and causing quite a stir as no one had seen them before.
Great video, appreciate the work you out into it and insight from Inov8. Their Roclites and Mudclaws and previous XTalons 260 are superb, hope they continue this way.
Inspired by this and your reviews on the mudtalon speed i purchased a pair of mudtalon in wide and love them so far, incredible traction in mud and a great fit for my foot-shape 👍🏻 (at last!) Cheers
What a great feature Loyd! It was lovely to see you out on the fells and get those Inov8 insight. I've been to their Staveley store quite a few times and the Hawkshead brewery next door does a lovely pizza! 😂
Been interested in trying out INOV8 and thanks for the inside look into the brand Loyd! Excellent video with great scenery from the intimidating Striding Edge! Good work as usual!
Not sure what happened with the new mudtalons seen quite a few pairs failing apart at the toe box I thought these things were tested? Really hope we see a precision fit in the trailfly my feet slide about too much on uneven ground which is a shame as I do like those shoes. For someone with fairly narrow feet the standard fit is quite wide in the toe box and doesn't offer enough support. Hoping the new trail talons will hold my foot better 🤞
I haven’t run in the Mudtalons Ben but my Mudtalon Speeds are holding up well and they fit my narrow foot shape well in the precision fit 👍 I don’t have any slippage issues in the Trailflys either, maybe my foot shape is slightly wider than yours 🤔
@@Run4AdventureI tried the speeds but they caked up too much in the woods near me unfortunately. Fingers crossed for the trailtalon hopefully it hits the sweet spot I may well use them on the Cheviot Goat if the standard fits out in time.
Pity they've screwed up so badly with the mudtalons really. They dropped the mudclaw and xtalons but the mud talon is simply not a replacement from a fell perspective. Even the narrow fit one is too wide and rolly. They don't sell a fell shoe anymore, just a trail shoe thats good in mud.
In my rather short time running I’ve owned and enjoyed a few Inov8 products , must say I did prefer the old logo .. a super well put together video Loyd
Nice one. Very intresting and entertaining! They certainly put you through it. Not just a fell race but Striding Edge as well. I like the way they say "technical" when I would say hazardous and very dangerous! Wayne Edy came to see at The Complete Runner Ilkley when the INOV8 was due to be launched. He was convnced there was a gap in the fell/trail market. Walsh had been an ever present but Reebok with their wide range of off road shoes had become a thing of the past. He was not wrong! We've seen them go from strength to strength ever since. It's not been all plain sailing as comments below suggest. Looking at pics from the fell relay I would say that INOV8 are still the no. fellbrand but many were wearing the adidas fell shoe and many, many wearing the VJ IRock 4. Look foward to more videos, Loyd. BTW have you tried the HOVER X1 or DJI Neo "flying£ camera. I'm using the Hover and really enjoy using it for product. All the best, Terry Lonergan
Really glad you enjoyed the video Terry! There’s definitely some tricky sections on Striding Edge but if you take your time and go steady it’s ok 🙂 Liga has actually just bought me the DJI NEO drone for my birthday. I haven’t flown it yet but it looks incredible and I can’t wait to use it 👍🙂
@@Run4Adventure I've done many running videos using the Hover X1 for product. I like to wear a jacket, longsleeve or tee with the logos of the shoe brand.Front and back for "follow" and "Dolly Track" I always crop clis so that I do NOT show take off and landing. I don't feel I need to add to the great number of vloggers showing the article Hover X1 itself. Leave viewers wondering how you have made the video! I try to use all 6 settings on the Hover. I was going to buy the Neo but I the advantage of the Hover is that you can fold it in and easier then to run with it. I'm just bringing in VJ so you may see videos featuring that brand soon. Best of luck Happy Birthday!
It's good to have another brand using foot shape besides Altra. It is crazy though how foot shape can be a USP. All shoes should be foot shape, it shows the influence of fashion to the detriment of the fit.
....and TOPO ATHLETIC who have been producing "anatomical" shaped toe box shoes for road and trail for many years. They have also offered a variety of drops. 3mm , 5mm as well as zero.
Great video, really nice to see and have a view of all the work behind the scenes. How does the new racepacs perform overall? Have you review them? Really interested to know, specifically the 20l one
At the fell relays last week inov8 were behind VJ & adidas in terms of usage at least in the top runners. Considering their previous domination that would suggest they are ignoring their core support by ditching all their proper fell shoes. The ‘trail’ market is obviously much bigger but it seems like a shame not to have one or two offerings with a real precision fit. There is a reason fellow shoes are traditionally narrow and it’s got nothing to do with fashion. Also, is there anyone other than those that work for inov8 that actually prefer the new logo?
Really disappointed with the new line up , dropping the classic 212s with a narrow fit with 6mm drop .... Not everyone wants a wide foot shaped shoe , also hideous new logo, they look like knock off market shoes moved onto Vjs
I have 5 pairs of Inov8 shoes...three from the bygone er and two from the modern era. I prefer the modern era with the foot shaped shoe, especially the trailfly. Great trainer! Why would you not want a trainer that is shaped like your foot?! Interestingly, modern day pointy trainers that crush the toes are thought to come from medieval 'fashion' when nights wore those pointy iron boots. Formal shoes similarly.
There is an irony about Inov8 talking about sustainability. They are constantly pumping out new products, which creates far more waste instead of producing a small range of good shoes are making small improvements to them, i.e. like VJ do
What’s wrong with a hat! Everyone use to wear hats in the old days, it’s just a hat. I can’t believe we spent hours and hours trying to make a really interesting video that you can watch for free and this is all you can comment on 🤷♂️
@Run4Adventure ....Ignore the comment mate, not worth the effort at all. These kind will make a comment and then dissappear.... anyway on to more intelligent things, thanks for the videos and for the channel.....always quality content. Cheers Mark.
I love the hat and will aggressively defend you on that at every opportunity. Thanks for the hard work on the video, it’s bloody brilliant and I’d watch an hour long video like that on loads of different brands if they’ll have you. Have a good weekend :)
Excellent to hear that they’re going to reintroduce the zero drop versions!
Thanks! I really appreciated the variety of this episode, behind the scene and the trail and fell running. Awesome all round.
Thanks, really glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching 🙏🙂
