Dashboard Confessional submitted another song to Sony for Spiderman 2, but after watching the full film before it was released to theaters, while on vacation in Hawaii the vocalist didn't engage in all the fun but instead picked up his guitar, immersed himself composing another song after being inspired by the movie. After finishing, they called Sony and asked if they could replace the first song they submitted, Sony agreed only if they can submit a cut of the song. So they quickly setup a makeshift recording studio to produce the song. After submitting it they were called by Sony informjng not just about approving the new song, but were asked to record it on the same day, since it will be a part of the movie. Their vacation was cut short and had to fly to LA. They arrived in the set where Doctor Octopus had his machine, and was asked to perform on the spot. The song became number 2 in all charts on that year, making it the most iconic song in a Marvel movie.

He's regretful of screwing things up with this gril he's in love with and see’s that he had a chance but didn't take it and should have at least tried. He thinks of himself as sick and being wrong and right at the same time. Being wrong about the girl not liking him but right about taking a chance. He's trying to clean up for her but lives his life because if he does he can get another chance and still be able to live his life. He's seeing the things that the girl saw and didn't want to be bothered with a changing. He motivates himself to being with her. Then he kisses her and he doesn't want the momenet to end and finally he takes his second chance and gets with her. Yet his hope tangles on a string he plans to make it work. Meaning his hope is thin but the little bit of hope he wanted is still there even though it took so long it was worth it.

The only reason why Spider-Man 3 flopped because Sony went and forced Raimi to add Venom and Sandman to the film when it was just supposed to be about Harry being the New Goblin.
