Great Video like the 6” spike idea. I use plastic boxes with 120 belise with foot pans. On a horizontal pole fisher get head all the way in before trap springs. Catch about 30 % weasel 50% martens to 20 % fisher in my area in Alberta. I’ve had a lot of fur damage over the years I find it best if the caught animal is suspended away from trees to eliminate damage
Great channel, just made a couple of boxes today after watching your video thanks for the info caught my first Fisher yesterday, Denis from Saint John NB.
I am new to these nesting boxes. Have you ever tried asphalt shingles for the exterior to prolong the lifespan of the box? Have you ever tired setting two conibears in the box at the same time? So the first one fires and then the second trap is ready for the next fur bearer? I understand that the box would need to be long enough so the first trap doesn't set off the next trap. I ask because I see so many video where the bait is gone and there is a dead something. So where did the bait go. Seems like a missed opportunity to get a second animal before you can check the trap. Regards, BAG2
Got the measurements, but how are you making the angles from 9 1/4 down to 45 inches I don’t get that part. How do I find out the angle if you don’t mind helping me out
Hello! I'm from Russia. I am also a marten hunter. I liked your video. Tell me, what kind of traps is this box designed for? In Russia, I use KP-120 for marten production.
pretty sure they are all over, I have trapper friends in Harvey and st steven who have caught them, any place with mature forest and ground animals will hold fisher.

Great video! Just saw this. Thinking of using 2 screens, one nailed in back and compress inner screen sandwiching the bait. Cheers.
Great idea!

I like the idea of shingles.
Dimensions for your box for the 160s

Hey. Thanks for watching. I’m not sure I understand your question.
Hello! I'm from Russia. I am also a marten hunter. I liked your video. Tell me, what kind of traps is this box designed for? In Russia, I use KP-120 for marten production.
this will fit anything from a 110 to a 220
Great video! Will a 220 slide back at least 7" recessed?
is there fisher all over N.B. or are just in the northen part.
pretty sure they are all over, I have trapper friends in Harvey and st steven who have caught them, any place with mature forest and ground animals will hold fisher.
Will the box fit #116 body grip trap
That's just a slightly larger 110 with a stronger spring? Figure it should. It accommodated a 220 just fine.
I knew a trapper who caught 25 to 30 Fisher a year. He never used boxes!!
what did he use??
@@NBWildman only thing I can think of is natural cubbies... 🤷🏻
220 doesn't fit in these dimensions, or atleast the Duke 220 does not
a duke 220 should fit just inside the mouth of the box if built correctly? what are the dimensions of your trap?
