I was brought up in Croydon, this place has changed so much, from a sleepy village town to skyscrapers
Terrible place what a shame lived in New Addington for many years in 1955 born in Thornton Heath loved Croydon in the early 70s the Forum pub in the whitgift centre the ship pub, Dr Jim's night club.Then Scamps on a Sunday night. Surrey street market, Diamond record shop west Croydon to buy my Trojan reggae records listening to them in the record booth take me back to 1970 please😢 😢😢 Croydon then was Surrey now South London??

I lived in Croydon for 20 years, it is a souless wasteland without a single redeeming feature.
That’s what modernism in architecture did in the 1960’s onwards. It was a town of great character before the post WW2 planners and architects trashed it. A real shit hole now.

I was there in June
I lived in Croydon and went to school there for four years until I wen tot university. The town had some character. This is a very sad landscape of rectangular tower-blocks.
The town now seems to be deserted. Most of the mega shops have closed or moved to Purley Way

I was born there in 83 lived in Addiscombe just outside East Croydon, it used to be booming 💯 nightlife was bangin clubs bars all over and the highstreet ramo...its just dead now to what it was and still should be...EDENHAM??
