In 1996 Shah Rukh Khan came to Vancouver to launch the movie Pardes, which was partially shot in Vancouver. Shushmaji got a chance to interview him while he was in town. We talked about Bollywood and the process they went through in making this film

not only his English speaking skills but his speaking skills in general. Also, he has been a very intelligent person. Even after being an outsider in the movie industry, he knew all the nitty-gritty of movie-making and the industry. It shows his dedication and madness toward this profession. I don't like Shahrukh as an actor (he has also accepted finally that he doesn't consider his acting even half good as he used to think in his early days) but I admire him so much for his knowledge and the kind of work he has done in his life so far. Shahrukh is literally a gem of this nation.

To all, who despise his cigarette smoking in interview, those days cigarette smoking wasn't prohibited. It was banned in 1999 in India, not before that. In fact, you may surprised to know that cigarette smoking was advertised as healthy in TV ads.
