My grandpa was 11 during the war and my grandma 5, before they would get married, 18 years later. The 2 families shared a radio together to tune into the dutch queen's radio transmissions to stay strong, they both played outside and on liberation day they shared candies the soldiers handed out. Its a small world we live in :)
My grandfather was in the Netherlands shortly after they were liberated. He made friends with a Dutch cobbler who made my mother, who was a baby at the time, her first pair of shoes. Heartfelt greetings from England.
I am half Italian and I am Jewish, god bless every single life lost, I am very glad I came upon this film as I am very interested in ww 2 my relatives and to pray for those who fought and those who were murdered at this time ❤️🙏🏼
My grandfather went to Normandy, then he want South of Italy going up to Germany. He saw some Italians helping these men before they gave them weapons and clothing. He was a kind man and tried to do everything he can. He never killed anyone, his confirmed kills are 0. 1921-2014
Thank you to the crew to let the people know these stories. All MUST remember what happened to avoid to repeat same mistakes. ALL of us. In EVERY gesture we do. ALL days. Grazie ancora, da un Italiano.
My great grandpa was a tank platoon leader in WW2. He defended Odessa, Ukraine when the Germans where attacking. He served until the siege of Berlin and got awarded the red star for his contribution.

My great-grandfather fought on the eastern front for 3 years. He survived and told the story to my mom. This almost made me cry but made me feel sad. Too many people died protecting us. May they rest in peace
Those Italians are just too nice. I think that war really made them see the value of other people which was shown through their hospitality towards the prisoners. Edit: damn it was sad when they died. I did not see that coming.

What a beautiful film... love, and mercy. Hate and war. Stand, and know the truth or be told lies.. the saviors of the 2 world war - thank you. My grandfather would have thank you dearly.
The highlight of this short film was the grace, warmth and expectant passion between Ernesto and Alexandra as they said their final farewells. You sensed how Alexandra was a good, loyal, homely farmer's daughter who had a life ahead of her as a wonderful mother. This illusion, however, was soon to be shattered by the arrival of a German Hauptman and two soldiers hunting for 2 escaped British soldiers. Ernesto and Marco had forgotten to hide their uniforms, which were discovered, and led to the cold, summary executions of the very kind farmer and his dearly beloved daughter, Alexandra.
What an emotional ending!! I wonder if people would be so selfless and kind now like that man and his daughter? I’d like to hope so. Brilliant acting especially by Scott Rutherford!! I’d Love to see a part 2 to this.
Two of my grandfathers fought on the eastern front, one was a tank mechanic, the other reached Berlin, returned from the war alive. My city where I live was defended for 73 days. This is more days than France and other European countries surrendered.
To be honest bro most people are saying their grandfather was in World War Two but my grandpa was born in 1937 and was only 2 years old at the begging of the war and 8 at the end of it.He is still alive today at the age of 83 and still tells me stories that he remembers.
Personally, I am Italian and Polish. Having some of my family members talk about them taking this risk to save Allied Forces Military Officers, I am very happy that they would be so kind. They helped British and American Officers. Also, My great grandfather was a child in Poland at the time of WWII, he said “Most children above 10 were fighting with even rocks and sticks.” My family in Poland helped Russian soldiers and other allied forces officers that were fighting in the Eastern Front. WWII was extremely dangerous and sad. We should all be grateful we aren’t in this time-period.
I really enjoyed it and the guy who played harry (Scott Rutherford) is actually my friend from school. The ending was abit disappointing and was left on a cliff hanger but none the less it was great.
Yip Scott has been through a war himself in life with heart transplants in and out of hospital he's spread inspiring stories about how important organ donations are and he surprised us all with this wonderful news about staring in a short wwll film. He was phenomenal in it as the rest of the actors. I liked him and the guy that took them in. Just wish we got to see the Germans get killed for killing that poor guy and his daughter. Please make a part 2. We would like to see if they both got to Switzerland. I think that's where they are headed.
Random video Guy 93 that’s actually how I met Scott, I made a documentary about his heart transplant! He’s the most inspirational guy I know and I cast him as Harry long before I wrote the script
I'm Italian and i live in Italy. Just yesterday me and my grandmother were talking about the time of WW2 in Italy. At that time she was a child, but she remembers very well that her family many times helped italian partisans offering them foods and places in their home where they could rest and sleep. One day while her family (that are of course mine relatives) were hosting two partisans, nazists came searching for them. Fortunately they succeeded in hiding the two partisans men inside the barn, where they were laying down under a layer of hay on the first floor. Just imagine what could have happened if nazists would had found what her family were doing... all of them would have been instantly shot for helping "enemies of the nations". I will be always proud of my relatives, that risked their life to save people that were fighting from the inside in order to rebel and go against the Nazi-fascist oppressive regime, carrying the unceasing hope of a free Italy.
We should thank all people who helped others during WW2 and remember people like the farmers who helped the escaped and the wounded and ended up giving their lives for them
As soon as they took off the uniforms I was thinking burn them. A very good short film which had a cruel ending. God bless all those brave farmers and their families who helped those allied prisoners, so courageous.😥
People who risked their lives to save people like Jews and other minorities to the Germans should get an award, unfortunately most of those people lost their lives saving said people
A lot of my relatives were Italian partisans, fortunately they are not dead in action, they destroyed the tracks of the concentration camps trains and liberate the prisoners. We must remember they forever and remember also all of the people that fighted to liberate us. Honour to these people!
This reminds me of my grandparents. Old individual farmers (from any country, really) were some real badasses, they were incredibly strong and tough, but also incredibly kind and selfless. They would help others despite not having much themselves, because they cared about other people and lived simply. And they always did the right thing, even in situations like this. And they always got up super early like this man lol
My great grandfather fought in ww1 in Eypres and got mustard gassed which badly damaged his lungs he also broke his back, he was a pretty strong man. He tried to sign up when the second World War broke out and cried when he was told he couldn't. I wish I could've met him.
Great job Zak! So often it is forgotten that there were people all over Nazi occupied Europe that helped many Allied militants, and this was not only a great reminder, but also a fantastic view into the fellowship and hardship that both parties faced. I'm looking forward to the next chapter. I do have one minor gripe. I had a hard time hearing the voices with volume at a normal level, and therefore everything else (music, other noises) was incredibly loud. I've never worked in/with film, so I'm not sure if it was the microphones or after edits, but I do hope this can help you with your future endeavours.

@@zakjarvis8998 If you fancy a giggle, please watch Wartime, World War II in Europe. It was posted yesterday and made me laugh very much. What I love about your offering is that it is both personal and relevant. It deals with real people. My grandfather was a WWII veteran. He was an intelligent and sensitive person. He would have loved your film and found the "rockyisation" of an event which cost millions of lives distasteful to the extreme. Wars are not a game. They actually destroy people. You were on a budget, granted. But you were good, accurate and real. Please ignore the negativity (e.g. "The uniforms should have been hidden"). That is precisely what makes the richness of your film. You were aware that you were dealing with people who were not born soldiers and were just trying to help. Take pride, Zak, in being a sensitive human being. Again, well done!

Adarshjit Das thank you for your kind works Adarshjit, it means alot
I agree. Unbelievably well done. Thank you!!!
He never killed anyone, his confirmed kills are 0. 1921-2014
He fought for Germany right, god bless him
Tbf tho if never killed anyone his confirmed kills is hardly going to be 6 is it? 😂
Thank you to the crew to let the people know these stories. All MUST remember what happened to avoid to repeat same mistakes.

In EVERY gesture we do.

Grazie ancora, da un Italiano.
My great grandpa was a tank platoon leader in WW2. He defended Odessa, Ukraine when the Germans where attacking. He served until the siege of Berlin and got awarded the red star for his contribution.

Wow.. Truly heartbreaking. People risked their lives to help the allied prisoners, may they rest in peace for eternity.

Who did he get saved by?
My great-grandfather fought on the eastern front for 3 years. He survived and told the story to my mom. This almost made me cry but made me feel sad. Too many people died protecting us. May they rest in peace
Those Italians are just too nice. I think that war really made them see the value of other people which was shown through their hospitality towards the prisoners.
Edit: damn it was sad when they died. I did not see that coming.
Then what do you think the thumbnail was?

My grandpa was a second lieutenant military police for Britain and he served in this war and is still alive today
Edit: He unfortunately passed away today this morning, he shall be remembered. Died 11th June 2021
Your very lucky to have him still alive.
God bless him and protect him my friend

Almost everyone who fought in ww2 n survived are now dead theres probably 10 people in the world left from ww2...ur very lucky if hes still alive
Heroes everywhere in the world!!!!Lovely film!
So well done house and clothing are authentic and like the idea of the use of different languages.
My Grandfather was a POW captured by the German army and there were so many good people who, fed him and helped him along the way.
Beautiful film! Wonderful acting and story telling. Please keep making films we need more filmmakers like you!!!!
Both my grandparents fought in the war. One was at Normandy and the other was in the Navy. Im so proud of both of them. Long live the greatest generation
Best world war short film I’ve seen so far! Good Work!
Stroke 357, the WW1 short film “The End of War” is pretty good, it’s hard to decide which of the two is better.
My grandfather stormed Juno Beach with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders. Thank you for your service and your great sense of humor. He died in 2010. Rest in peace.
What a beautiful film... love, and mercy. Hate and war. Stand, and know the truth or be told lies.. the saviors of the 2 world war - thank you. My grandfather would have thank you dearly.
Thoroughly enjoyed that, well done Scott, kerry and everyone else. Did not want it to end!

This is an amazing short film that deserves more recognition, if possible I’d love to see more like it
Personally, I am Italian and Polish.
Having some of my family members talk about them taking this risk to save Allied Forces Military Officers, I am very happy that they would be so kind. They helped British and American Officers. Also,
My great grandfather was a child in Poland at the time of WWII, he said “Most children above 10 were fighting with even rocks and sticks.”
My family in Poland helped Russian soldiers and other allied forces officers that were fighting in the Eastern Front.
WWII was extremely dangerous and sad.
We should all be grateful we aren’t in this time-period.

I really enjoyed it and the guy who played harry (Scott Rutherford) is actually my friend from school. The ending was abit disappointing and was left on a cliff hanger but none the less it was great.
Random video Guy 93 Really.
We should thank all people who helped others during WW2 and remember people like the farmers who helped the escaped and the wounded and ended up giving their lives for them
Awesome story. Its a sad one but so true. Loved the music also, especially on the closing credits. Keep making great films like this!

E pensare che oggi iniziano anche a negare il contributo della guerra partigiana in Italia dal '43 al '45... folle!
I have heard there is a two hour adaption film coming, and omg I can't wait, I must of watched this about 50 times
Earned a sub. Also these Italians were true heroes!
They are all true and documented stories.
I can't think of anything to say that hasn't already been said about this film. It packed so much into its 21 minutes.
My great grandfather fought in ww1 in Eypres and got mustard gassed which badly damaged his lungs he also broke his back, he was a pretty strong man. He tried to sign up when the second World War broke out and cried when he was told he couldn't. I wish I could've met him.
He apparently also said if Hitler won the war he would of shot everyone in the family to save us from a life of misery, bit scary that lol
The Italians where heroes and to hear a lot of the m put their lives at risk and even died for us Brit’s is a heartbreaking story.
Esatto.
They are all true stories.
The old man’s cry left me emotional.. I feel so bad for them. It’s what he had all left.
This should become a full movie!

BRILLIANT! WELL DONE.....As an Italian, I am proud of what you have done and thank you!

Amazing work on this short !!!! Bravo !!! Well played, well filmed , very sad story....war is the apotheosis of mankind stupidity, brutality...! All the worst in human comes with war but also , all the greatness in the power of love , friendship , courage, bravery, strength, beauty ! Too bad that the dark side is so prevalent in these times . Italians and Greeks helped so many people. In Greece orthodox bishops helped Jewish evacuate and hide during occupation.
The bishops, priests, monks, friars and nuns, but also simple men and women, Italian Catholics have done the same! They did it also because Pope Pius XII asked them to give help to anyone (Jewish or not) who fled or was wanted by the Nazi-Fascists! Many of them have paid for these acts of love towards their neighbor with their lives, they are "martyrs of charity"! 👍🏻😉
