The uk listeners really don’t show support like other countries too. U got uk artists goin to on the radar to gain more exposure. The uk should be tryna build up their own platforms to push-up the uk talent cuz theirs a lot
Agreed. Back in 2014-2018 the UK scene was great in terms of having platforms where they can get exposure- SBTV, Behind Bars, mixtape madness, and many more.
This is a great video and my takes on it is if record labels took a back seat in the the first 1-2 years an artist, what’s called their founding years and allowed natural talent generation even they benefit. Instead what we are seeing is talent agencies cutting through competition in hopes of finding the few first, it’s unnatural. If we want to find the next Dave, this needs to stop.
The Solution to some of the problems in the UK music scene 🎬 is expanding the recognition of artists beyond London Different cities across the country have different accents and different stories to tell
If any artist just took the time to do a bit of research on Sony and what it did to Michael Jackson, they would NEVER walk into their offices, let alone sign with them…
@linkuptv tbh bro we need new genres/sounds and I think ppl are tired of the drill ting because it’s repetitive and ppl are tired of the crud ting ur page has strong potential to be revived again like before 💯there’s artists like namebliss, deeriginal,Sam wise, lil simz, odzmoney,Frank Ekwa,Clara La San,Jay o,Nippa, gunna v,IMRHAN,f:sv,Condoseven, Jim legaxcy,Eric Iv
The music scenes been finished! Most sound the same, I don't even get hype for any artists releases anymore, music videos are also dying out in terms of creativity!
Cap the real reason the UK scene has NEVER EVER flourished is because we lack the in-between content what made or makes people even have an opinion beyond a song we never had enough publication magazine TV shows etc I've been in the industry since 1999 no can't tell me nothing I was there with Sony Defjam I was in the back streets with the record stores major Flava's uptown BlackMarket I ran with the militia street crew music is illusionary and this country allows the illusion to fade as they do not invest into the fuel to keep the illusion alive. Y'all to worried whos keeping it real it's entertainment not real life. We don't or didn't have many champions for scene in high profile position. Wether you agree don't bother me but that's the reality I saw and see still.
Bro I was literally thinking the same thing I just couldn’t put my finger on what it was , authenticity in the scene is really cooked now n there’s really no story behind a lot of these man
A few things: spotify has a lot to answer for, their playlists are so bland and discourage creativity scene is far too small - even reactioners have to watch what they say as everyone knows everyone producers have hit a wall, detroit sound, bay area, sexy drill sound in nyc, the afro stuff, all a lot more interesting. Uk producers been dead for a min Grime will see a resurgence hopefully 👀
Careful calling any of these artists authentic just because you’ve got a soft spot for them. You ain’t getting as far as Nemzzz without money and industry relationships - it’s the music BUSINESS.
Funniest thing is that cass yute is a rich kid from surrey my man lives local to my colly he’s a civilian who models for trapstar no works at all loooooool
I feel like UK Urban scene kinda lost creativity if we look at our scene from 80s - late 2010s everyone knew their position. Some man did Afro swing,uk dancehall, jungle music, pinero type beats, garage music, grime, drum n bass but now it’s like everyone tryna just fit into the drill image and blow on tik tok but don’t have passion for music feels forced and it feels like music ain’t sacred any more. No creativity or authenticity
Hope you realize that there’s nothing wrong with being signed to a label. Without the label you wouldn’t even be seeing their songs on that playlist nevertheless knowing that they exist.
@@jewtube_warrior There's so many rappers that aren't like that. Griselas show in the uk recently was an example of real hip hop no backing tracks or funny business.
The UK urban scene copy each other too much, not enough innovation and originality within the production, also the rappers lyrics and content sound very similar.. on top of that they all hate on each other 🤣
im just gonna be honest.. the uk music scene is talentless. the music only targets the young demographic, promotes violence, and they all sound the same.
Thank you. It's geared towards impressionable 12-21 years who find this miserable road life endearing. You can't even get a decent turn up anthem. Just plain drill shenanigans.
Underground is very weird too completely ripped off the US and that opium stuff and everyone is eating it up cause they wanna be different knowing that they have no originality
All the music sounds the same. I’m sick of Central Cee already. I like Knucks and Nemzz. I remember listening to the LeoStayTrill and 163Margz collab thinking that it sounded strange and forced. Now we know why. Jevon was my favourite artist. He was supremely talented and had an interesting story as a person and this showed through his music. I always wondered why he didn’t get far more popular after his VEVO discover campaign. I guess it wasn’t marketable to the big companies. He was independent as far as I know.
163 margs biggest industry plant he got a family member very respected in the music industry. Leostaytrill an industry plant I been saying but people was like ahh he’s signed to flystr8 how come fizzler ain’t blew, his image is done bc he’s got no opps. Any new artist coming about w a digga feature is an industry plant
He has no family members in the industry looool. He blew off a freestyle on TikTok, made it into a song and he got signed off of it. Simple. Guys need to know what industry plant means before throwing the word around.
I thought this coz if you listen to kairo keys last 3 songs they all sounds the same not that it’s shit but to me it all sounds the same so makes me not want to listen to it
Nearly did 2 years ago, but I’m thankful that fell through, can’t stand the business. The deal ended up falling through with the kid I was gonna sign cuz of his father.
i dont really understand the point being made here tbh. artists sign to labels because it gives them more visibility? i mean yeah... thats not really some crazy hidden knowledge. people work at major labels for a long time and then leave to make their own label? yeah thats happens in literally every industry - people gain experience then start their own business. everyone knows labels capitalise off you and try to market you a certain way, and create a story around you. that's literally the value they're supposed to offer. everyone also knows they're predatory as fuck. there was just no point made about how theyre "destroying the music scene" though lol
Most people don’t know this or understand how the business works. They’re destroying it by removing all of the authenticity. Nothing is authentic any more, mainly due to social media imo. Skepta is someone who always taps in with the younger lot or upcoming scenes and he can’t really do that because there’s a lack of creativity due to the current ‘crabs in a barrel’ scene we have rn. Collabs aren’t organic anymore, it’s all about what can generate the most streams and tiktok views. People aren’t working together based on creativity anymore, which is destroying the scene. It’s all orchestrated, but it’s going back to how it’s always been now that labels have the monopoly on social media.
The point is very clear forced linkups, no identity or sense of character with these artists, acting like they get it from the ground up but having a deal less than a year of making music
Do y’all have similar artists to youngboy where they consistently drop and consistent??? That’s one thing I noticed about Uk rappers they’ll drop a tape /album then disappear that’s probably another reason y’all not consistent also y’all have to be versatile to not just drill for the streets but have some stuff for the ladies to . Also build a fan base in Uk /europe before forcing y’all selves to cross over into the USA and put spotlight on other cities in the Uk London isn’t the only city in the Uk there’s probably hidden talent in other cities in the Uk to .
