Striking, stunning, sexy, gorgeous, those are all words that come to mind when you look at this car. Once you get past the initial wow factor you will come to realize that the car is truly in outstanding condition. We just acquired 3 cars from the estate of a very well respected local car collector. He has owned this car since 1998 and gave it a rotisserie restoration.
EXTERIOR: Absolutely gorgeous bright red paint, gleaming chrome on this sleak roadster. Fantastic body, the fit and finishes are outstanding. It is laser beam straight from every angle. All the gaps are spot on. It's smooth, even along the bottom. The paint is like liquid red glass. The jambs are painted slick, new weatherstrips and sill plates. He owned a chrome plating business so obviously every piece of trim and chrome on the car is sparkling. The roadster package includes the lift off tonneau cover and Kelsey Hayes wire wheels. They have spinners with red centers and Firestone radial tires. The tonneau cover easily lifts off, even with 1 person. It does not affect the convertible top at all. Sequential turn signals blink across in back, the fender mounted indicators work in front. New glass with soft tint. The retractable top works without a hitch. Opening it puts on a show for any onlookers. The white convertible top is in excellent condition, the frame was restored and given new weatherstrips.
INTERIOR: Right out of the factory had awesome design with the wrap around rear seat, the center console continues into the dash where it has a swing away steering wheel. This one was completely restored and loaded with options. It has power seat, passenger sit has lift up headrest and reclines, power windows, power vent windows, power antenna, reproduction floormats and red seatbelts. It was updated with a retro stereo. There is a full rear seat under the tonneau cover. The carpet, upholstery, door panels were all replaced. The chrome was redone. The dash area and console are excellent looking.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The engine compartment is absolutely stunning. It's all glossy and highly detailed. The bottom of the hood is a smooth gloss red with hood insulation and cadmium plated hinges. All the painted surfaces are smooth and glossy. Original air cleaner and valve covers have gleaming chrome. It has all the details like Ford hoses and clamps, correct spark plug wires, Autolite battery toapper, correct stickers and Thunderbird washer bag. Factory features include power steering, power brakes and air conditioning. The 390-315 hp motor was rebuilt and runs strong.

Wow, this is an incredible find, I’ve never seen a Thunderbird with this package, absolutely beautiful. This car was 20 years ahead of its time.
Hi Jay, I just want you to know that I watch your videos on a regular basis and for the most part I enjoy them very much. I want to make a few comments for your benefit as well as the viewers. The next time you demonstrate the operation of a convertible top, close the hood as well as both doors. The opening of the hood and doors is a distraction to a potential purchaser for a convertible. Prior to filming your next video displaying a convertible, operate the top to determine if there is ample clearance. Have a wonderful day and keep up the good work.

...I know it's sold, but this is one of the beautiful Thunderbirds I've ever seen... absolutely stunning in every way... I grew up in that era and even back then I found this auto design to be brilliant... this car, with its options, for its time, is absolutely spectacular... wow.

Very nice. Drove a 65 with a 351 Cleveland from San Diego to New York City in two days, non-stop except for gas.

Hi Jay. I can see Robert's (Bowling) beaten me to it again!! This is underpriced by at least $30k! You are NOT going to find one to beat this anywhere! It's perfect! O.K. so it happens to be my favourite Thunderbird. It wants for nothing and although Red wouldn't be my first choice it is beautifully finished. Of course that boot lid operation would come in pretty handy if the brakes failed ! And Audi resurrected the sequential indicators only 3 to 4 years back ? Bet your going to have a pose .....l mean road test ! in this beauty. Thanks Jay.
Wowzers is that car ever red. 64 to 66 are my favourite years for T-birds. That 64 light blue T-bird you featured was to die for. It would be my first choice but I'd settle this red one if I had the money.
Beautiful car. I love that year of T-Bird. And that its a roadster makes it perfect. When I was a kid I had a pastor that always drove T-Birds. He switched in the late 70's when they lost that heavy car feel. And he switched to an Eldorado. Hilarious. A Lutheran pastor in an Eldorado. But now that I'm older I totally understand why he drove T-Birds. Beautiful cars.
What an absolutely beautiful T-Bird!! I don't ever recall seeing one with the 'roadster pkg'. This car is stunning, top to bottom, inside and out! You've gotten me fixated on looking at the gaps!!! And again, following the lights against the finish as it spins, it looks absolutely flawless! This car has been dressed out with every single appointment to perfection .... The color, wire wheels, and even in the engine compartment .... It looks like it is restored to brand-new. Congrats on this find, and to the new owner. What an absolute gem!! Thank you for sharing.

Another Birthday car for Barry. Boy ,if that was built on a Thursday,at 1:08 pm twenty fourth of February 1966. It definitely is a Birthday car for me. Would love to have the money to purchase it. No such thing as a "roadster package" in '66, although a tonneau cover was available through Ford dealers this is more likely a newer reproduction. And the wire wheels are modern reproductions of the original Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels.
