Watching those trout come in, thumb their nose at you and go away and then return , hit your bait and give you the thrill of your lifetime. Just unbelievable action and content. Thanks for doing this up right.
Sight fishing always looks fun, would have loved to see some better trout handling practices though. Never a good idea to lip a trout and treat them “like a walleye.” Much more sensitive fish and people who trout fish often know how easily poor handling can kill a trout. I know many people may not realize there a large differences between most freshwater gamefish and trout so important to spread the right handling techniques often. Keep fish wet has some great resources if you want to learn more.
@@OLDHATOUTDOORS Just saying there's no need to be a Karen. The released fish in that video will be fine. Take a few, release a few, have fun. They will be replenished.
There are areas all over the state of MN. Use this resource from the MN DNR to see where they are stocked near you. www.dnr.state.mn.us/fishing/trout/map.html
Rainbows spawn in moving water like rivers or streams. That's why steelhead run out of the Great Lakes every year. Successful spawning requires the right flow and water conditions. Most "put and take" lakes don't offer the right environment.
A bit overkill and too much work for site fishing trout through the ice. You can basically do that with a couple holes either way pretty cool video but they will always be trout bums whining about the way people handle them lol it never fails
That might be the most excited I have ever seen James. Awesome fish!

Happiest I think I've ever seen James lol Awesome fish man 🔥
That was a great time!
Dude that big fish and your excitment was awesome great show
Beautiful fish and nice video. Unfortunately, it probably resulted in some dead fish due to the handling techniques.
That was one great show Guys thanks for sharing Tight Lines
Great content!
Love the video
Would love a show where you guys stream fish for trout. There are excellent streams in the Driftless Area of WI.
Fun video. Just learn how to handle trout that you’re going to release though. 😬

Agreed.
Yep. Wet your hands, use a net, keep the fish wet, minimum time out of the water, minimal handing... assuming you want the trout to survive.
Aaaaah yes, the internet trolls live on! This is a put and take fishery. They did nothing wrong.
@@brandonrautell9028 trolls? Are you saying if it’s a put and take fishery you shouldn’t treat fish with care if you’re releasing them?

You guys need to come to montana and catch some real rainbow trout through the ice.
What happened to the show last week?
Y’all need a Smitty Sled for those shacks
Prepare to get destroyed by the trout fisherman for lipping that guy
Would have been okay if he was going to keep the fish. But why kill a fish you aren't going to eat?
🍻
Should have kept the trout since you killed them all with your mishandling anyway.
why wouldnt the trout eggs survive there?

Why dont anybody over there kill the fish when they will keep them?
