FYI: if it stays black when having a usb keyboard connected and when pressing certsin keys it shows info on screen that "screenshot saved" and other infos. If I have the keyboard unplugged it shows the screen to pair the remote but pairing doesnt work with any combination of buttons or full remote reset.
Well, it is the most informative video i've seen for a long time ! I've got a shield, first gen. K1, my fav. tablet, but I can't get past the NVIDEA logo, i'll give it a try tomorrow! thx man!
Hope someone can help? Shield TV 2015 16gb goes from android word on screen to a black screen and sits there, if i plug in mouse etc i see the mouse cursor move around screen but nothing else no setup menu just black screen. does this in safe mode too. tried factory reset from boot menu / tried the other factory reset from broken android menu too, still black screen. reflashed stock 9.0 just goes to black screen, tried flashing 8.2.3 boot loops even after factory reset. shield is recognized by PC i have the usb male to male cable and i can ADB and send flash commands etc ADBapp control utility shows the default apps are all there but i see nothing but black screen no setup etc tried 4K tv tried 4k pc monitor same black screen / different hdmi cables and still black screen with mouse cursor on screen when plugged in but nothing else really don't know what else to do to get this fixed!!!
Hi sir, I have the same problem and I did a factory reset using the keyboard. even after that mine does not go beyond the lock screen .. is there a way to flash >
This is perfect! I will be trying it later today and my 2019 shield will be for sale as I also had a remote issue a while back. I got me an Apple TV instead.
hello sir I have a question after this process will I be able to use at least a couple of reinstall recently used apps maybe 2 because I saw the message in red that says once I reset to factory I won't be able to use these apps again. so I'm asking will I be able to use or reinstall at least 2 of my favorite apps were you able to use tivimate again. I recorded on tivimate also then I got stuck on a black screen that said critical storage space please help I will be grateful before I do this thanks so much
@@robertbaker9597 I'm not sure I fully understand your question, but if you do this factory reset, it erases EVERYTHING on the device as if you just bought it. So, you can install whatever apps you want on it..

Yes, I am using it, but I just have to not record anything because that's what happened to mine too forgot to delete some of my shows Thanks a lot, man. Have a wonderful, wonderful day.
u are a life saver - so many have no clue - i had tivi mate snd hit record, i managed to used the phone remote to acess it and wipe the app, my mates one was soild gone tyy so much bro

Thank you for this video. It helped me fix and stopped me from needing to buy another shield pro. Much appreciated
I've done this process twice before and was able to use the joy stick controller that came with the shield pro.

thanks for the tip. I forgot that I could use a usb keyboard for accessing the settings after the remote stuffed up.
