I think you’d both like Bristol. Have you listened to any massive attack, tricky or portishead? Trip hop was born in Bristol in the early 90s. Great city and not just for hipsters.

Geography of the UK is still based on how it was 1,000 years ago.
London (Lun-dun) is a place to itself. Not very English but still Norman rule.
Wessex is the Saxon shires in the south. Winchester is the capital.
Anglia are the flat counties to the north east of London. England is named after it.
Mercia are the English counties to the north west. Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester are in Mercia.
The Danelaw (or Northumbria) are the counties to the north east occupied by the Vikings. York is the capital.
Wales or Cymry (Cum-ree) is still full of fierce hill tribes.
Scotland or Alba. Still occupied by tribal clans.
Cornwall or Kernow think they are a separate kingdom.

Londoners tend to live in a bubble on public transport and don't tend to chat to anyone else in contrast to many northern cities and towns (I say this as a person that grew up in York - north east UK but has lived in London for 13 years now). Oh as someone that fell on the London tube during rush hour recently I got stopped from falling by a load of people. I turned round to thank them but they were all already back on their phones or reading books!
The whole 680 square miles of Greater London are tourist filled but some parts of central London can get crazy it's true. I'm also not sure it's dirty throughout. Maybe in the early hours of Saturday morning in Soho or other party area's after people have redecorated the pavement (sidewalk!)

Most of those 'Londoners' aren't born-&-bred in London. As a real one, with my Sarf London, Michael Caine accent, I often 'rabbit' to visitors & tourists on tube trains. Many are astonished to meet a local who reminds them that we still exist! "Cheers mate!...'ave a good one!".

Nobody calls it "Birming-ham", that's in Alabama. The regional capital of the West Midlands is called "Brum".

I would take this video with a pinch of salt. It's funny but not 100% accurate. Yes, everywhere in the UK has it's rough spots but it's a mix of what you imagine the UK is (afternoon tea, history, culture, architecture) and this video (asbo = anti social behaviour, drunken louts, poverty stricken areas).
As a Londoner born and bred, I agree that London is a bit overhyped and definitely overpriced, but it's still well worth a visit. Northerners are friendlier than southerners but that doesn't mean to say that there are not tons of friendly people in London or the south. Who will be really lovely and friendly towards you especially if you're lost or need help. The scenes of the tube are in the"rush hour" = the time in the day when millions of people are going to or coming back from work. You can travel "off peak" mid morning or afternoon and it's relatively quiet. But rather than get the tube get the "Thames Clipper" = boat service that sails down the thames will drop you by ALL the London attractions, has a bar and snacks, usually empty unless "rush hour", can use your oyster card or contactless debit/credit CARD same as tube/bus.
I could write tons (already have 😂) but it all depends what you're looking for? If you want Nightlife, Music Gigs, Clubbing etc. London, Manchester, Liverpool. If you want stunning scenery Lake District, Scottish Highlands, Cornwall. If you want "quaint" Canterbury, Bath. History, Aberdeen, Oxford, Stirling. Maybe don't try and predetermine what it may or may not be from this video alone.
Ps. Bristol is lovely and the perfect mix of city convenience and country landscape. Yeah, I'd give Crewe a miss too (Sorry Crewe)

I hate travelling on the tube , sometimes its packed and you stand for long perods and your head is near someones arpits and at times it is awkward
because people dont want any interaction and they are at there rudest.. I am from North london and unless you go to the tourists spots or rich parts of England it is not what it is cracked up to be.

I am from London, you have chosen the worst 👹Gen Z RUclipsr to represent the UK [he probably likes UK slack Grime music and smoke strong weed🙄clueless]. 🤨The thing is you seem to believe it? In England there is this stupid "north south" divide nonsense, that mainly people from the North are obsessed with. Try a civilized opinion like Alanna's who is Canadian from "Adventures and Naps" channel.
