There was a Florida news story of this happening. Grandma was naked and took out dentures yelling grandma no teeth and it worked.
Richard Dawson was on the Match Game for years before Family Feud. The thing is that for a Brit, (even though he had lived here for years by then), he had his fingers on the pulse of the American people. His answers were always on the money.
It got so bad that contestants would choose nobody else for the bonus round that The Powers What Were added a wheel so that other celebs would get to play.
The very first time they used it, it landed on Richard, and everybody got up and left the stage.

I absolutely love family feud clips, so funny.
Watched the family speak years later about why that guy kept answering turkey and apparently when he was coming out from the sound booth he accidentally overheard someone speak about his family member who went first use the answer "chicken" for one of the questions (the bird stuffed one). This guy didn't know what the question was but he knew not to repeat "chicken" and assumed he needed to say "turkey" for one of the questions. He had it locked in his head so when the first question involved food he said "turkey", then he kinda panicked once he said it so it took over his thinking.
I find these guys adorable, i think its just bc they remind me of like nice uncles😭😭😭

He's not wrong either. "Alligator" is an animal with 3 letters in its name.

Funniest game show answer ever came from the host... in the early 1950's Groucho Marx (of The Marx Brothers) hosted a game show called "you bet your life"... one night he had this frumpy looking old housewife on the show, and as Groucho asked her what keeps her marriage strong? She said "Well, have you ever been made love to by a frenchman?" Groucho says "No, I can't say that I ever have" 🤣
You Bet Your Life is worth watching simply because of how DIRTY Groucho was... He was a MASTER of double entendres and telling dirty jokes in a clean way.. like you laugh then go "wait a sec.. LOL"

Young people will always end up looking like current old people because we tend to continue wearing the style of hair, clothes, makeup, etc that we did around age 18. What looks like a grandma haircut now, looked like a cute curled hair style girls would struggle to get with perms, curlers, teasing, and hairspray 40 years ago.
The people on 1976 television are seniors now. I was in high school with one of Richard Dawsons kids who I hope is living a great life. I mention it bc I was in the land of tv broadcasting and extra aware of who was who, and who was new ( until 1978 and i left town) So yeah, we wore giant plastic glasses and satin blouses that tied around the neck. Dresses tied at the waist. No one was more over weight than the woman in the dress at the right buzzer. I remember calling that look “matronly” when I was 17. The younger generation was ironing their hair straight. Farrah Fawcett posed for a poster that kept every boy in his room and changed every salon and teens hairstyle. if you don’t remember her picture , you should refresh your memory.
not everyone in the world followed trends, though. Some of those normal people flew in from all over the US and appeared on game shows. But in the middle of writing this, I remembered the onset of Farrah hair. I even got a surreal experience- a ride in a classmates camaro where showed me how to use a car to blow dry your hair. I barely knew him. the lesson lasted the length of the ride. he was super nice with awesome hair. and idk if anyone will see this comment bc this video is a year old

Family Feud, especially modern Family Feud, is designed to get people to say funny/stupid/sexual answers, which kind of takes away from how funny it is when it happens. I used to watch it a lot but I find it pretty unwatchable these days. The funniest clip in this video imo was the "ugly sandals lesbians wear" one near the end.
