Holy, you have described my situation to a T. The amount of hobbies I have picked and dropped is insane. It is the biggest thing I worry about with getting a monitor.

@@Trazor2k0 no I use to have a mangrove monitor and it was a psycho lol but my peach throat is amazing
@@84reccless Aah hell yeah that's awesome to hear man, when I first saw Mangroves at an animal expo and found out they only get 4 feet or so I really wanted one.... Then most of the info I read was that they are not very chill or tame able animals I realized that they weren't for me. I'm really leaning towards either Peach Throat or Quince.... Those peach Throats are soo badass though. I seriously might end up with one. Do you have any pics of it or the setup?

My mangrove is 2 years old and had parthenogenesis occur. She had 2 eggs, one not viable. Not sure the remaining one will make it. You said it takes at least 4 years but that's wrong. Anyways I thought it was a male, I was so certain. She actually laid under her basking lamp. I mostly feed live so that's probably why
When I move my lizards to a new enclosure, I just put a removable hide inside and wait till they go in. Then I transport that to the new enclosure.
If you’re referring to the mangroves when I said I dug them up, I’m lucky to see them once a week
So it’s not possible with them
As the chances of getting them in a box and me seeing is slim to none

Hey Paul im looking to get a peach throat baby but i cant seem to find any information on their diet. Do they eat fish, invertebrates, or rodents?
Yeah, stay heavy on the inveterate and crustaceans, then chicks, then fish and least amount of rodents

Thanks for the reply. I understand. I have 2 in my collections and I'm so excited to know more. They are together in my 8x3x3, still very young, but they are so different in personalities yet so intelligent it's crazy. One loves to charge me for dominance, and the other is so chill. I've trained mine to eat Mazuri insectivore food, boiled eggs, and 97% lean ground turkey all prepared together with pinky mice from time to time.. It's amazing how they adapted to eat out of a bowl. Their is very little on info on this monitor species and it seems not very many ppl breed them so I decided to take on the challenge. Also I enjoy your videos dude. Keep up the good work!!
@@justanotherdayfamily3128 thanks man, if they’re small you prob won’t be able to sex them but I’d feed chopped up chicks over ground turkey personally, if you can’t find in the wild I don’t feed it, crustaceans and fish are good too

I switch up from chicken and turkey and I've tried to feed shrimp but haven't had a whole lot of luck. Cool thanks man!
