the cheaters in this game are crazy. i spent a week with my friends building a base in novo clock tower, we go to kamensk and come back and we are raided, then as soon as we begin to rebuild we get shot from 2km away in the mountains and all die instantly.
Alot of the cheaters are russian, or chinese, some latin countries but mostly russian and chinese. however some dirty american cheaters, like a guy im no longer friends with. im thankful to you for highlighting this problem.
It's kind of sad to be honest. I tried getting back into official DayZ but the cheaters are terrible, and they have explosives bullets now. Shit feels like a public gta 5 lobby
I jumped back into the game recently. I’m at 250 hours. I’ve been trying to play official, and it’s been awful. Im on the lowest pop server I can find; there are 4-6 and most, and somehow anytime I make a base or a stash, it gets raided. I’ve tried moving to different servers, and it’s the same result. Or I somehow run into one of the four people on the server, and I get killed out of nowhere. And it happens multiple times; it’s not just unlucky at this point. I’m going to try to find a community server, and if that doesn't work, I’m just going to give up on this game.
DayZ is an odd game as online games goes. OFFICIAL servers are crap full of cheaters because there is no moderator to ban them. Private servers are the only way to enjoy dayz.
1. OFFICIAL servers are plagued with cheaters using ESP and aim-bot. I rarely bother struggling to grind up a character on one of them because once you get some decent gear or mule car batteries, tires and radiators for kilometers to get a running vehicle the hackers will find you, kill you, steal all your stuff and destroy your hard-earned progress. 2. Many COMMUNITY servers have unscrupulous moderators who use their admin tools to cheat and harrass the players, but overall, if you can find a COMMUNITY server with honest and diligent admins, who work at keeping the server free from hackers, the game can be fun and rewarding. The problem gets down to finding a good COMMUNITY server that doesn't have a bunch of mods that make it vastly different from Vanilla (so that the game is too easy or too difficult) and actually has more than two or three other players on at any time. It is not enjoyable to be the only person on the server, even though that guarantees there are no cheaters in there with you. 3. There are some good COMMUNITY servers out there, but they are hard to find. I won't play on servers with a "no vehicle" mod, and I would prefer no "added loot" mods. I can deal with "Third Person Disabled" if I have to, but do enjoy third person view for some in game activities.
I tried changing servers. Cars last half a day no matter where put in. Dig up under the cut tree day or two. And most regrettably, they constantly spray me through walls. God forbid I hide behind wood. As return player, it god so much worse.
Its sad ...but the only truth each time there are more and more and the worst u dont know who is who the best way to fight a cheater is with cheats ...Sad but true

Bro my base was really really deep in the forest and I got kill just now by people all with military clothes and weapons I had 6 wall covering my base and they destroyed everything they have so many ammo and they found someone else base so easily this is bs
BRO this happened to me yesterday with my brother, we were in the middle of nowhere BARELY setting up camp and a full squad just unloads on us. It's not a coincidence if it happens 3 times on the same server in different locations.

Sorry brother but they haven't. The Cheater problem has gotten even worse now since they're able to shoot exploding bullets & spawn grenades on top of you
On official server 4140 Xbox, I mag dumped a player that was standing still I snuck up on them. They did not die, merely one tapped me like it was nothing to take a full magazine from a KAM to the torso and face. I sent the video to Bohemia, it's under investigation
Tell me how do you know you were killed by a cheater ! You don't. You can't explain it, so it must be a cheater !! There's more myth than reality around this dayz cheater thing. Not saying they are not out there, but a lot of folks blaming cheaters for their own misfortune, lack of situational awareness, and the mystery surrounding deaths because dayz gives you no resolution. What destroys the game is the attitude of the current generation of DayZ players of KOS always, and never attempting to have interactions and have experiences born from those interactions. People who love to camp in a bush and snipe people from great distances. People who farm and hoard weapons in bases. These are the things killing DayZ. Not hoardes of mythical foreign cheaters invented to cover for our own inadequecies.
All the cheaters literally show up talking about how they dupe bragging about things that required no skill when you see them level a base while lag switching almost every single gun fight when they start losing
I definitely have more hours than you and more experiences on my hand than you do bro. Explain getting repeatedly shot through a building with no windows while laying prone. Its not a baseless accusation but rather something that you learn as your skill in DayZ increases. Considering the amount of testing i've done in private servers on DayZ, and with over 2000 hours in-game I could say you don't know what you're talking about. Prove me wrong if you have more hours than me but regardless - you're wrong. Cheaters are a huge problem in DayZ and you'd be surprised to know even with NO armor from anywhere past 100 meters you will survive most rifle rounds shot at you. I've also been in several discords where they sell DayZ cheats and have studied how they work, which i doubt it something you've actually done.

the vanilla servers are ruined by cheaters....its unplayable so many hackers and u cant even report them....dayz is dead

I get shot through walls from over 2k meters away on some community servers. Like totally encased in concrete no windows. Still getting wall banged

they've done something against people shooting around 1000 meters on official servers
