    Just did this for the first time today. Thanks for the video, helped quite a bit. I've always paid my mechanic for most of my work but with prices being through the roof and now that I have a garage for my vehicle I've decided to just start buying the tools as I need them and doing the job myself. This was cake work. Of course there are things I wouldn't touch on my car but things like this I'm never paying for labor again.
    Thanks again.

    What would you do if the caliper bracket bolts were stuck a bit?

      I would spray p b blaster on the boat and let it sit for a few hours and then try again if that does not work, then he

    I DO know what elbow grease is: when I was a little kid, my dad said to use a little elbow grease. I replied that we "didn't have any". I can still hear him laughing....

    Have you forgotten to set parking brake piston? You put a rotor in a way you won't be able to adjust it ever. The hole has to line up with the adjustment gear. Other than that, nice job

      What's a parking brake piston? There's a star wheel adjuster .

    • @orange2352
      @orange2352 2 месяца назад

      You just rotate the rotor… you can put the rotor on however you want and when you want to adjust the e brake you just spin the rotor until the hole lines up with the sprocket. 👍🏼

    One thing I'm unclear about is will the rear rotor come loose if its in park or the emergency brake is engaged? wouldnt it lock the rotor?

    • @JuicedMoose
      @JuicedMoose Год назад +1

      It would obviously. No e brake on for this

    There are numerous things this guy did wrong. This is not a properly performed brake job. And at around 2:22, those are not rotor bolts. They're caliper bracket bolts.

    • @blakesmobileautorepair
      @blakesmobileautorepair  Год назад +3

      Sir I am just calling them that because they hold the bracket to the rotor i was just simplified a word.

    • @JuicedMoose
      @JuicedMoose Год назад +5

      Only thing wrong was not lining up the rotor with the e brake adjuster. He was moving fast and forgot but I don't see anything else wrong. I've done same simple mistakes when filming. Bracket bolt rotor bolt meh your being hyper critical.

      "Numerous things", but only mentions one thing, which is simply the "misuse" of a word....

    • @orange2352

      @@JuicedMooseyou just rotate the rotor. Don’t have to line it up necessarily.

    Dont ever wait to hear your brakes grind and replace them little earlier to save you a rotor to be replaced!

    GREAT JOB!!
    IM KINDA SHORT ON CASH…….
    WONDERING………..
    IF I GOT THE CHEAPEST ROTOR THIS TIME…. AND THE MIDDLE PRICED CERAMIC BRAKES…..
    WOULD THAT DO??
    I GOT 131,00O ON MY 2013 Altima 2.5 SL
    ONLY HAD IT A FEW MONTHS…. DONT KNOW IF THESE ROTORS ARE ORIGINAL?
    BUT NOTICED THE HORRIBLE GRINDING ON THE LEFT REAR YESTERDAY…. ( never heard it squeak though?)uumm
    SO…. CHANGING ONE SIDE TODAY…. AND ONE SIDE NEXT WEEK IS PROBABLY GOOFY … AS WELL AS DANGEROUS??
    BETTER CHANGE THEM BOTH TODAY AND BE DONE WITH IT…. Just trying to stretch a buck…
    been a costly month so far…lol
    IVE GOT $150 TO SPEND DONT WANT TO BE MR. CHEAPO CAUSE I PRIDE MYSELF ON BEING A SAFE UBER DRIVER….. MY CUSTOMERS SAFETY COMES FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!
    MAN I HOPE I CAN FIND A 19 mm wrench as long as yours in that garage of mine…. Got a socket that size but the driver is a
    1/2” ….. 15 inch long beaker bar….. ( hopefully it can fit inside that wheel area??👀
    Jack handle is too skinny to fit as leverage breaker…… but I do have a
    “ little elbow grease around….. “. lol👀
    THANKS AGAIN
    HAPPY HOLIDAYS 🎄
    & ONLY THE BEST FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IN 2024
