I rarely cried to any songs but this song is something else. My mom and I were rewatching Mama Mia and I jokingly said that she will also be like Meryl Streep in that scene, crying and singing this when I get married one day. I still remember the way she laughed at that. She had just passed away last year due to covid, and now I just realised that in our story, this song is not about me, but it’s about her . this song made me realize that my childhood is something not to be forgotten but to be treasured. Growing up and letting go of the things you loved as a child is painful, but it is part of our lives. So while you still can, try to treasure the moment while you still can.
Currently sat drinking wine listening and singing to this in tears. I have a 9 year old daughter who has special needs. I have this awful feeling of guilt because it’s been so hard and I’ve really not been the best mother I could’ve been. She deserves so much more. When I was a child, I was very close to my mom. I always wanted to be with her and beside her. But when I turned 12, everything changed. A sense of awkwardness crept in. It became difficult to share my problems with her because she would just get angry, and I knew I would only be scolded. I couldn't confide my secrets in her because I knew she would only say things that would hurt. I really miss our once strong bond as mother and daughter. Listening to this wonderful song. After my 11 years old daughter left for school, it hit me so hard, and now I can't stop crying. She is diagnosed with ADHD which is for me not a big deal, but for my husband, he just can't understand. We just had an argument last night about her. For me, I'm just happy that she is well and healthy. She is trying her best to fit in with the people. It hurts me inside. As a mother, I need to protect her and guide her as she grows.. all I wanted now was to be happy and make a lot of good memories with her. To all the mothers out there, stay strong and positive.

My mom and I used to watch Mamma mia everytime the power went out in our home due to thunderstorms. Beautiful memories. Im now a mother myself and my little one is almost 4 months old. Shes growing so fast. Some days are hard but then i remember she really isnt going to be tiny forever. I cant believe its already been almoat 4 months sinse the doctor put her on my chest. Im going to cherish every moment with her and make sure she lives a happy, safe, loved life.
