      The iron utensils in our home are already either Galvanised or Electroplated, it is done so to prevent it from rusting.

      Alkalis are the bases that dissolve in water.
      Thus you would assume that bases form alkalis.
      But keep in mind that most of the metal oxides are also basic in nature. Thus they can be called basic. The metal oxides which dissolve in water are called alkalis. Hope you understood.
