My first car was a 1975 AMC Gremlin..... My favourite AMC car was the Eagle! That car was ahead of its time. Probably the first Crossover or small SUV.
Glad to see this video back in the 80's I went a few times to Kenosha to visit friend's that worked in The AMC Factory up until they closed my friends used to live a block from the Factory , and to see those many cars in one place is awesome real nice rides for sure , thanks for sharing
During the 70's I dreamed about having a Javelin or a Matador coupe. Although not too many 70's Javelins were shown, I only saw one Matador coupe [1974-78] which was near the end of this video. Those Matadors reminded me of the 60's Marlins which I liked as well.
I haven’t read your comments yet but this was a spectacular show you guys are definitely NOT huge AMC fans because your guessing on things !!! AMC did NOT make a big block engine there V8 engines were basically the same size just different bore sizes and rod lengths and crank materials . AMX was only built for 3 years 1968 69 and 70 the rest was considered a trim package unfortunately yes AMC engines are very quiet and there is a boat ramp due south from your location in the Harbour. See you all next time amazing event had a amazing time with classy folks with some amazing stores hung out with Angela Dorian and the brothers from Collier Motors in Pikesville NC . The last operating AMC store till this day . Thanks to the Kenosha Historical society for getting this show back on track .
when i was in high school my parents had a 61 classic and a 63 classic, both with V8s one auto, the other three speed with overdrive, great cars, the 61 i think was a better car, one time on a trip to death valley with 4 teens in the car i had the speedo in 11. also on that trip going into death valley from trona calif. there are dips in the road and i had the car air borne, crazy times.
To think of all the people that built these on the assembly lines... when you look at this right here, you can kinda see the impact AMC had on the United States, and much of North America.
Not an AMC dude I'm more of a Chrysler Dodge but thanks for the video I watched it I do love AMC 72 Jeep pickup trucks my dad had good trucks lots of people there I can't believe how many people are there
He moved too quickly past a car that I owned, over 40 years ago...I had a 1959 Rambler American...flat-6, three on the tree, 22-29mpg, and very comfortable...one of the first true economy cars!...sales actually saved-temporarily-AMC from bankruptcy. In its time, it was the cheapest of all American cars...problem was, they were only good for maybe 100 K miles, before the shoddy workmanship showed up...I have not seen one on the road, for at least 30 years.
@@curbozerboomer1773 Flat 6 is what Corvair and Porsche have. Yours was a flathead 6. And, no one in 1959, expected more than 100k miles from their car. Your judging your Rambler pretty harshly, for an engine designed in 1941. I got 168k with my '66 Rebel 232, and drove it very hard, after buying it, with 37k on it in 1993. Only stopped driving it because of a major torque converter seal leak. My dad, back in the day, would have a major celebration, when his cars got to 100k, even took us out to dinner, at a nice restaurant (which usually only happend, if there were travelers checks [remember them?], left over, on the last day of vacation).
The Gremlims n Pacers were definitely better running vehicles, the drive trains more reliable than Vega's, Pinto's, Horizons, K cars, and others in their class,,,,,,,
Not to mention he and the ignorant kid asking him questions know very little about amc. He said the 390 is a big block @ 5:30 at least he knew it wasn't a Ford engine lol
Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!! (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO laws)!!!!!!
I am 75yo now...and I have loved cars as we have known them, for most of my life...but times are changing, the pollution problem is coming home to roost. Over a hundred years ago, people had to give up on the horse and buggy...so they did...now it is our turn to give up on the internal combustion engine...and new generations will embrace the future, while us old folks will be pushing up daisies!
That's all BS. If you people actually have a representative government, and like your cars, vote those morons out of office asap. Otherwise, I'd have to escape to an actual free country. ICE cars have been the main mode of transport for over 100 years, and the environment hasn't harmed me for my 70 years, and don't expect it will anytime in the future. Cars are cleaner than ever, and it's never enough for those whack-job environmentalists. They've been claiming the world was going to end every 10 years for over 50 years. But it never happens. Don't believe them. Get some courage and fight them. You're not communists! Or are you all brainwashed too?
@@curbozerboomer1773 That's not a good argument. The horse and buggy went by the wayside because ICE cars were far better. And ICE cars are still better at this point in time, and they've been getting cleaner, with better mileage for decades. Haven't seen a pollution problem roosting anywhere. You're just buying the propaganda. They may come up with something better in 30 or 40 years, but EV's will never be as good or practical, and is not the future. What'll happen is they'll outlaw the machines and materials necessary to grow food and feed a large population, and all the poor suckers in those countries won't have food to eat. I'd say destroying the farms and starving is far worse than some imagined environmental threat, supposedly due to ICE vehicles, which have sustained us quite well for over a hundred years, and improved our standard of living. Over my 70 of the last 100 years, my environment hasn't suffered. It's a darn good environment. Getting better all the time. I have so much environment, I have cut it back to prevent it from taking over my property. At 75, I think you're smarter than that.

Glad you liked it
@@dingoschannel3228 That was quite a large area to video...terrific AMCs.
I always thought Volvo got their inspiration for the Cross Country from the Eagle AWD wagon.
Thumb up from a fan from Argentina 👍✨
Thank you

I’d probably slip on my drool if I was there.
was hoping to see an Alabama State Trooper Javelin .........
I'm in your opening shots!😀
Awesome. Which car?
Well done keep up the good work
Thank you

I’ve never managed to get to this even though I live less than 20 miles away. Maybe next year.
They do it about every 3 years. So I don’t expect a show next year, unfortunately.
Heck, I'm less than two. And I didn't make it. Besides I've probably seen all of these cars befofe.

I live in Kenosha..it was awesome
I didn’t see any Jeep XJs, which was surprising
I ran through this at 2x speed but at that I don't think I saw a Matador (x) Coupe other than the one on a trailer in the swap section
I could have missed it. I was looking for a Hornet X Sportabout myself. Never see those anymore.
Mine wss a 66 Rambler American Convertible
At the start of the video that is my dad and my grandpa
Too bad your camera settings were wrong and washed out so much detail.
Too much sky, point your camera down to catch MORE of the car and slow down to show more details especially on the rare and interesting cars..
Thanks for the tips.
