- Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian died in a helicopter crash, state media reported on May 20. The pair were confirmed dead after the crash in a mountainous area in the province of East Azerbaijan, Press TV reported. The charred wreckage of the helicopter which crashed on May 19 carrying Raisi and Amirabdollahian was found early on May 20 in blizzard conditions. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi was likely traveling on a Bell 212 helicopter that began operating in the late 1960s.

Knowing well the proven lack of safety in the Helicopter travel and that too not following the established protocol of not allowing all VVIPs in one aircraft how three or more were to fly in the Helicopter is the question.
More number of VVIPs have lost their lives in Copter crash than in Airplane crash. This should wake us up to the issue. Copters, on engine failure fall vertically whereas Airplanes can glide before crash and an experienced pilot can save lives. Copter pilot has no ghost of a chance for this.
