Hey Joe, just wanted you to know I ran a Makita 7900 you ported for me really hard helping clear Helene damage in North Carolina and TN. It’s the first time I’ve run it really hard and Man did it shine in the big oak and other hardwood with a 24” bar and a sharp chain. The place was an absolute mess and it was the only big saw in use at my location, so I and another cutter kept that thing running tank-to-tank-to-tank with very little rest. Good work. It makes a huge difference when time matters and the day is long.
I applaud you for taking on the task of getting a 572 to out do a ported 500i. When, not if, you make it happen. You will be back logged with them for years. Mine will definitely be in the mix. The boys will be crying in their ultra 2.
That's amazing development you're making Joe. I'm always so intrigued in what you come up with. This is flat out Awesome. Already watched the video twice
Joe, I built a 550 XP that I unstuffed to see if it would gain torque it did the same thing on the idol. I just ran it working over the course of a week auto tune. Found it and it idles perfect now.
Aren‘t you supposed to start and let the autotune saws idle for 3 minutes after doing a modification? I understand this sets the idle parameters and then after 3 minutes put it to work and it will figure out the high end parameters.
Looks like that the 572 Case is not matching the Lowers of the Cylinder? The 550s and 562s have a wider case to fit the Lowers? What happens if you match them?
That 550 big bore does sound interesting. Amsoil does make great oil. Ive settled on K2 for now. Seems good. Less smoke. And I got a 4 16oz bottles for 30 bucks. Hard to beat that price on a quality oil.
increase idle speed by : file open the idle notch just a touch bigger in the butterfly plate at the venturi (throttle plate). file it just a hair larger or it'll idle too high
Good stuff Joe. 550 is a great idea!
Really interesting 550 BB ! Can wait, but don't want to!
I'm excited for the 550 big bore 85°I think 80° would be better but very interesting joe thanks for sharing

I would be interested in both saws, great work sir

It sounded excellent in that log under load.
Nice job.
I'd love to buy one when they're available. Excellent work 👍
Happy you're getting things sorted!! NICE!!
Excellent power gains. Should make nice kit when all said and done!
That’s awesome! If you sell these as top end kits (if feasible) I’m in for one.
Maybe that one is just like the old detroit, it just wants to run wide open! Lol
Orange light means Husky time! Awesome video Joe!
Joe did you change over the intake block from the 572xp?
Love the 550
That looks like a really good wash pattern on the top of that piston at 21:20.
Dominator 40:1 what i run works fantastic! Bb 572 coming along nicely i have faith you beat the 500, Great videos!

Where'd you get that price, k2 8s my favorite too.
If that isn't a Husqvarna 572 who built that one?
They are husqvarna, just the first was a 565 not a 572
They are gonna sell like hotcakes
Awesome video. Did the true husky idle better? I think that gain is worth it with the extra torque hands down!
👍🆙DJ, SuperDave is doing a new Echo 4910 giveaway toinght, thought you might want 2 enter & Good Luck if you do!

Never gonna catch that 500i! That thing is ridiculous.
572 is a good saw though.
Will the true 572bb idle?
Just a fuzz off. Need to notch the plate ever so slightly
$5 it won't ,,stock they don't idle worth a shit!I find it better to just shut the damn thing off if I'm going to be more then a minute!
Too bad you couldnt make it a non computerised carb. Maybe it needs a reset or something. It does sound good still. Cheers

I think he's got it 😅
