Well Ken you're human after all. KIDDING! It's good to see that I'm not the only one that makes these little mistakes. Great project as always! You're still my woodworking genius!
I hope you make one of these Mark. Why wait until he's old enough? Make one now and have it ready for when he needs it. Thanks for tuning in and for taking the time to leave a comment.
Man do I sympathize with you, my first cabinet I made for my kitchen, I cut the sides 1” to short. I glued a piece of plywood to the insides of the cabinet and then a 1” filler strip and no one but me, my wife, you and the internet know, me and my big mouth lol
LOL. I guess the cat's out of the bag now Randy. My father used to say "ahhhhh, you won't notice that" and he was probably right. That only holds true until you post it to potentially millions of people on the internet. LOL. Thanks for tuning in this week and for the chuckle.
I grew up in a small town community. The phone book, with the yellow pages, wasn't more than a quarter inch thick so it wasn't much help. But the Sear's catalog sufficed nicely. There is a fine line between safe and happy. I know my daughter's were safe in their car seats but happy about it was a stretch. Nice recovery on the error. If you don't point it out, no one will be any the wiser.
Ah, the Sear's catalogue. How many years did I lie in wait, hoping that the day would come when the Sear's Christmas Wish Book would arrive and I would circle all the things I wanted with black marker. Good times. Thanks for tuning in this week Dwight and for chiming in with your story. I love it.
Mistakes are not something to edit out or to hide and pretend that they didn't happen. They are made to learn from and by showing my mistakes, hopefully someone else can learn from it. Thanks for tuning in this week Paul and for taking the time to leave a comment.
Thanks Jim. She's a ball of energy and a joy to have around. Her and I have a lot of fun together and she is asking if she can be on the show and make a project so I had better start planning that out for her. LOL. She knows what she wants and isn't afraid to tell you. Thanks for tuning in this week and for the kind words.
That would be a great addition Richard. Cork, rubber, felt or anything else that would protect the finish on the chairs. Thanks for tuning in this week and for taking the time to chime in with your addition to the project. Very helpful.
I wish I thought of this project when our kids were that age, or our granddaughter. I'm a tad older than you...I don't think your 70 yet lol. I always sat on a pile of Sears and "Monkey Wards" catalogs lol. That is a nice booster seat! Take care!
Not quite 70 yet Michael. I've got a few years to go as I'm only in my 50's. I think there are quite a few of us (myself included) who sat on catalogues or phone books back in the day. Thanks for tuning in and for the kind words on the project. It's appreciated.
Nice job Ken, sorry you made a mistake, been there done that myself more than once on the same thing. You've heard the old saying "cut it off 3 times and it's still to short" I'm sure. Looking forward to next weeks project!! The laser work is great, I'm sure she loved it.
LOL. My father used to say that all the time and it made me chuckle each time he said it. As for the mistake, no need to be sorry. It's a great opportunity to learn about checking your markings before you cut the wood and it's also provided with with a great opportunity to show how to repair it. Win/win. Thanks for tuning in this week.
I'm pretty sure that I had the ole white pages phone book under my butt when I was a child to Ken. Unfortunately, the digital age killed that option. LOL. Thanks for tuning in to the show this week.
Synthetic wine bottle corks make good cleaners for sanding materials! What would you prefer a bottle of wine with a sanding belt cleaner or just a sanding belt cleaner? 😁🛫 I could build two of these for my grandchildren.
Underneath the pixelation is a laser engraving of a cartoon character that my granddaughter loves. The character is from a company that takes their copyright and image very seriously so to avoid any legal issues, I blurred it out. If you'd like to see it, you can always send me an email and I can show you the full image. Thanks again for tuning in.
Measure a thousand times, still get it wrong ... sometimes you just become blind to the fact that something is wrong, in your minds eye it's right therefore it must be right!! So much better making something for someone than just buying it from a shop, and it's usually a far better product ... this in particular looks fantastic👍 My only suggestion is to add a centre point, between the legs, for the harness ... god forbid the child was to slip out of the chair and get caught by the neck with the strap!
That is a wonderful suggestion Barry and I think I will be implementing it on my design. My granddaughter is never left unattended in the seat but you just never know. Better to be safe than to be sorry. As for the measuring and bad marking...it happens to the best of us. I have the added distraction of the camera and filming and talking while I'm working but a quick triple check may have eliminated the error. I doubt it though because I double checked it and it was still wrong. LOL. Thanks for tuning in this week.

Hard to believe I know Dennis, but I make mistakes too. LOL. Thanks for tuning in and for the chuckle. Glad that you enjoy the channel.
That looks great. Once my grandson is old enough, I'm going to be rewatching this.

Hi Kenny, nice little project, the look on her face says it all 😀
She does love her booster seat Philip and she is awfully happy to be sitting at the table with the grownups. Thanks for tuning in this week.

Kenny, what a fun project.
Thanks for the kind words Jim. I appreciate you tuning in this week.
Kenny, thanks for including your mistake, we all make them. Nice project the smile on your granddaughter says it all.

Nice project for a nice looking kid Kenney.

Really nice, the only thing I would add is cork on the bottoms of the sides since I have wood seats (vice fabric) on my chairs.
That would be a great addition Richard. Cork, rubber, felt or anything else that would protect the finish on the chairs. Thanks for tuning in this week and for taking the time to chime in with your addition to the project. Very helpful.

Glad that you liked it Karl. Thanks for tuning in this week.
looks good, nice job.
Glad that you liked it Scott. Thanks for tuning in to the show.

Good project and useful. My grandyoungens used the ole phone book. I don't think they have them anymore. The laser sets it off.

I don't drink so I guess I will have to forgo the wine. LOL. Thanks for tuning in and good luck on your projects.
I understand, more coin for fun things!😁🛫
you have me so curious about what you have covered with the pixelation…..You don’t have to tell, just raises the curiosity.

@@acutabove_woodworkings thanks. That’s okay, just was curious.
