I definitely agree! We chat about water in the 3:38 range as well. I did another video about harvesting rainwater titled "How Preppers Can Harvest & Drink Rainwater" ruclips.net/video/jB5s9XcFYO8/видео.html In addition, I have another video where we discuss turning saltwater into drinking water titled "Ready for the Societal Collapse? Turn Saltwater into Drinking Water!" ruclips.net/video/f8Puubt5GEE/видео.html
Definitely get that garden going. I even did this other video about bucket gardening. It's titled "20 Foods Preppers Can Grow In Buckets Year Round" ruclips.net/video/q4zpkZnAjZk/видео.html
@@ThePrepperAlmanac great information, great job illustrating and thank you for the time you give to share this information with us all! Prayers for blessing for you and yours!
@@Scarredfan My pleasure. I always learn a lot by doing the research for the video and the script writing process. I then gain a lot of valuable insight from the community! Cheers!
Whether you fish, hunt, raise small livestock or cultivate a vegetable garden, you had better also know how to cook basic foods on a camp stove or over the coals of a campfire. There will not be any microwave meals, frozen pizzas or operational electric ovens, microwaves or restaurants in a region-wide disaster zone. Everyone has to eat to survive. If you do not know how to cook you will be dependent upon the good will of those who do know how to cook.
Glad it was helpful! Hopefully you had a chance to watch the companion video to it that builds on this video's discussion. It's titled "15 Important Skills You Will Need & Can Trade After The Collapse" ruclips.net/video/ioZq8FNFNNs/видео.html
Look at those skills that is expensive to hire today, chances are they will be more expensive when situation is bad. Meaning if you do not have the skills, you would ends up needing to pay others to do the job. Sharpening can get absurdly expensive, hairdresser shears for grooming, razor for shaving, fabric shears for tailoring, saw for woodworking and axe for lumbering , shovels, plough, sickle for farming. Knives for cooking and all the miscellaneous works. Drill bits, chisels and all the essential tools. Scissors sharpening services typically range from $5-15 per scissors, knife sharpening are marginally cheaper. Screwdriver tip can be sharpened, especially philip screwdriver which is very commonly used and see a lot of wear and tear. Flat head sharpening is straight forward, philip, torx and other special bits sharpening can take more practice. Tailoring/ sewing is absurdly underrated skill that you could sew a tent, bug out bag, or even your own shoes if you have the necessary tools. Shoemaking is next important skill, clothes and footwear aren't cheap even when mass manufactured. Needle making is also an essential skill, sewing, crocheting, nålbinding, net weaving, shoe making all requires specialized needles which people will want especially when they aren't prepared for it. Most needles requires little material to make, and their price often make it an adequate bartering item that could be pricier than actual money for the weight, and could be used as currency for exchange. Good quality machine manufactured needles can be like 10 cents to 20 cents each, a pack of 10 needles for a dollar or two, and actually weigh less than the coins you are buying them with. Handmade sewing needles are like $5-10 a piece currently, with the mass manufactured options no longer available, chances are needle prices will go up. Crocheting needles especially aluminum and brass needles can be getting expensive even for machine made ones. Nålbinding needles often are in the range of $20-$50 each given the size of it, majority being handmade. Bones, horn, wood and even metal needles have different price range. Net weaving needles are mainly made from casted plastic, which making one from recycled plastic sheets is possible or carving one out of wood scraps is possible.
