I guess with all the protesting going on around the world, time to dig this one out the archives. I saw "Strikebound" many years ago before I was an INXS fan, they used to put loads of old Aussie films on the box in the 80's. You don't see too many of them now sadly. This is still a good track after all these years.
thank you for sharing this info, I never knew that there was a movie called "strikebound" but I guess it would be an interesting experience to watch it (if it is available).
I remember watching 'Strikebound' during my Commerce class in high school in the 1990s. I was also a huge INXS fan. Also, yes, there were lots of excellent Australian movies and mini-series made in the 1980s.
Yes, the original INXS lineup with the three Farriss brothers, Garry Beers, Kirk Pengilly, Michael Hutchence as the front man and Chris Murphy as their manager. That was just a really good combination of people working together. You couldn't beat that with a stick. Good song, good album too. "The Swing" also had original sin, melting in the sun, I send a message, face the change, Johnson's Aeroplane and burn for you on it. INXS should be in the Cleveland, Ohio rock and roll hall of fame. Rock and Roll will never die. 🤘🎸🎤🙏❤️
Experimental, epic and bold. Something they quickly lost when concentrating on fame I suppose. Happens to most bands, especially when ageing (post 80's was mostly contrived). At least we have the Swing.
I know what Jesus said in the Bible about adultery, but don't you think that most females between the ages of 14 to 35 have looked at Michael with desire ? You certainly can't blame them, because most females would admit to you that he was a good looking guy. And most of all, Michael was one of the best singers of all time.
Heaven bliss....my sisters song funeral song is never tear us apart ....ten years different can't know her through stages ....I have avoided this music 😮......I wont go into it but i am now aftrr avoiding INX for say ....what like ok ...got distracted 2013 ...im like a chakra root opened ..sexy as hell micheal .my sister n. N cousin had well......um errrrrr ....a .....hang on words can't explain.......how about I tell ya later
So I take it the excerpts shown in the clip are taken from Strikebound since the title shows at the beginning? I had never heard of that before but turns out it's a film by Richard Lowenstein so I suppose it would make sense that the excerpts are from the film itself, though I have never seen or heard of it. Why that film though? Did this song appear on the film's soundtrack perhaps, or something like that?
Sublime. I've been going through early 80's INXS and noticing how diverse their tracks were and it's not an understatement to say how shocking it is to see such talent in a band so young. 'All the voices' is composed with so many layers and exquisite backing harmonies. These guys were wonderful musicians.
This video is *AWESOME*, as one would expect from INXS. Michael broke the mold, no doubt about that- but the entire band just made THE BEST music!! Miss them so much
INXS are my favourite band of all time. This is my favourite INXS song - but not my favourite song of all time. That accolade goes to Models' "Hold On" from '87.
My Dad burnt 'The Swing' album onto a blank cassette tape back in the day, and I came across it one day I think I was like 13/14/15 from memory, and played it and loved every song on the album. So hearing this now brings back a lot of good memories. 🙂
There's always doubt... Top 5 INXS IMO: 1. Welcome to Wherever You Are 2. The Swing 3. Listen Like Thieves 4. Kick 5. Shabooh Shoobah But yeah, I really loved the Swing. Listened the hell out of that album.
I still miss him. And just watched Richard Lowenstein's doco and was ASTOUNDED at who talked about him so honestly. I was just going to my favourite songs. Love this one.
Taken from an old VHS tape "The Swing & Other Stories", which had 11 music videos from the Swing and Shabooh Shoobah albums. Discogs says VHS only, never re-released on DVD.
As soon as I was able to, I bought and listened to INXS back albums as a teenager, great memories, and loved Jon Farris' drumming. The Swing, ShabooShooba, Listen Like Thieves, KICK, instant classics.
Discovering this band at 61. When I think I'm done then I hear one more great song. INXS has a great body of work. I missed out on them in my youth. I would hear the occasional song on Bandstand that I would like and I would venture no further because my sister bought the music and she was into R&B and Funk with an occasional Frampton and Hendrix album.
@drew sale Wow! That's a regret that I have, missing out on seeing them in concert. I like INXS pre-Kick and after. I've watched some of their Wembley concert via RUclips and I plan on purchasing the DVD.
@drew sale Yes, so far I've only listened to two songs from Max Q and I like both "Sometimes" and "Concrete" which is my favorite. You can tell Michael was crying out for help...the same in "Searching" and "I'm just a man." Such a great band.
@drew sale I would like to watch "Dogs in Space." I've seen a clip on YT and Michael proved himself to be a good actor. Like the song "Rooms for the memory". I also watched some of "Frankenstein Unbound" on YT. He had a small role and did well in that one too.
The Swing. Hugely underrated album.
Great song - great album - great band
Great band. Monumental song.

and he unfortunately stole Bob Geldof’s wife and committed adultery too

Why can't I get this on my iPad? Dam!
i still hear your voice christopher 💔
Just out of interest, does the original master copy not exist anymore?
So I take it the excerpts shown in the clip are taken from Strikebound since the title shows at the beginning? I'm 7 years late with my reply 😄, but yes, the song "All the Voices" from INXS was used in the movie.
heisadorable
Michael's voice is like butter in this song. And GGB's bass slays!
Old INXS is just the best
No doubt...!
My first exposure to INXS was in 1985 when I was stationed in South Korea, roommate had a cassette tape, favorite song is still One Thing.
Old INXS is THEEE Best !
Aw, without a doubt. I miss Michael Hutchence 💔
a very underrated INXS track for the die hards - amazing harmonys

What an amazing album this was. Not one weak track, just sublime music.
The swing is my favorite INXS album
@@nathanharris7815 mine too - together with "listen like thieves"
This video is *AWESOME*, as one would expect from INXS. Michael broke the mold, no doubt about that- but the entire band just made THE BEST music!! Miss them so much
That they did.
I so agree!
Had forgotten how much I love this song. INXS was my love in the 80s. Miss all these casually political rockers and New Wavers from back then.
INXS are my favourite band of all time. This is my favourite INXS song - but not my favourite song of all time. That accolade goes to Models' "Hold On" from '87.
It gets in yer brain!

Fascinating.
Frankie Doyle from Prisoner (Well the actress who played her) @ 1:35
Remember this being played on the Swing Tour, and the crowd singing along to it....
AWESOME
the best band ever
Agree with you 120%. Super Talented Band who couldn't of asked for a better Lead Singer. Michael and the rest of INXS are ALL gifted Musicians.
Picking up that book “Dead Men Don’t Dig Coal.”
This song was only played once live on a set at the Bronco Bowl, Dallas Texas USA on 19 November 1985.
Taken from an old VHS tape "The Swing & Other Stories", which had 11 music videos from the Swing and Shabooh Shoobah albums. Discogs says VHS only, never re-released on DVD.
The band I wanted to see but didn't Michael Hutchens had a great voice RIP MICHAEL

As soon as I was able to, I bought and listened to INXS back albums as a teenager, great memories, and loved Jon Farris' drumming. The Swing, ShabooShooba, Listen Like Thieves, KICK, instant classics.
Drum beat is the same pattern used on the bass at the beginning of Spy of Love
