I've been putting in for 7 years now can't wait for mine I've seen 6 elk in the back of trucks so far Black hills are the best where did you take yours at?
That’s so awesome, we met so many people with 4-12 points, makes it hard to believe I waited 23 for mine. I shot my bull in the H2 unit. That being said, there’s great bulls in all the black hills units.
@@OfficialPrestigeOutdoorsAre you drawing a resident elk tag every year? I know I’m not. I’ve been applying for over 15 years without luck yet. Just wanted to be able to see some elk and if I draw a tag - obviously hunt the area. I guess hunting has turned into a selfish man’s game.
Very selfish. I’ve put in hundreds to thousands of hours over months that turned into several years finding elk, scouting, setting trail cams and learning their patterns and habits without other people helping me. No, I don’t draw a tag every year nor will I probably get a rifle elk tag in the hills again.. however, I take out friends, family and military that have drawn their tags and prefer to keep those spots I hunt quiet. My advice, get out and learn elk if you want to have a successful hunt. The GFP with tell you where elk are located, then hit the trails and get out as much as you prefer. Hopefully you get lucky and draw, but my guess is you’ll have a few years to get out scouting and learn the elk in the BH. It’s not a selfish man’s game when someone’s put in the work to be successful and prefers not to share his location to everyone that asks on RUclips. Best of luck in the field! 🔥👊🏻
@@OfficialPrestigeOutdoors You’re right - I responded like a child. I can admit that. I live within the national forest in the northern hills and although there are elk, it’s been very difficult to locate a good spot they often frequent. What is the GFP?
